  1. They have been around for along time .In lots of things , as the quality of the materials gets cheaper and cheaper. The use of Cvt transmissions will rise.
  2. Nicely stated MLB1 The sudden loss of traction reminds me of the 1965 Peugeot with the Michelin X tires I had along time ago.
  3. My rig just turned 51000mi, Will do the Trans flush soon. Although you can't change the filter the trans drain plug makes the fluid change easy . 13 Qts will clear the fluid nicely .
  4. Very nice. Where is this journey going?
  5. The wagon came with a very nice back up camera. the only thing I would add is a tiny wiper to keep the dirt off!
  6. The height will not change the reading much. When you do the trans oil change you will see. I am about ready to do the trans fluid for the second time.
  7. It is but better than under the back seat!
  8. I have used both products and the Corrosion Free is much better and more durable.
  9. An all-wheel drive would be interesting. Once I Adjusted the Head lights they are very good. A less awkward Traction control switch would be very nice. I like the sliding load floor Idea.
  10. Looks like it is coming together very nicely.
  11. The tires TPMS tool is available from several company's. When you put the TC in learn mode you trigger the sensor from the left front around the car ending at the left rear. The tool will give you the tire pressure and the sensor Id number and the battery condition. The 245/55/18 is 1.2 % bigger on the circumference, but gives up 23% on the side wall height . The Change will not be great. Make sure the tires have enough of a load rating for the TC..
  12. There is a Canadian product (Corrosion Free ) which is a very waxy oil spray that provides a very good flexible coating . It seems to soak into the surface rust very well.
  13. This is the one I am running, I suspect that the Compressors of both units are very similar, with the same power requirements. During cool down and if the unit gets hit by the sun the amount of power increases alot. https://www.amazon.com/43-Portable-Compact-Refrigerator-Freezer/dp/B0012EGZ9S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497129469&sr=8-1&keywords=Edgestar+Fridge
  14. The 900 watts are going to require lots of batteries. Most house sized Solar panels 36X54 "s put out just over 120 watts. Watts are Watts no mater what the voltage. I have a Edgestar Fridge, Freezer and it works very well. It Draws 5 amps and it too will drain the battery.
  15. If you do a good job , and Air out the TC There should not be a problem. The insulation as much to keep the Van cool as to keep it warm .
  16. Very cool, The good old days were hard on your butt
  17. If the road trip was worthwhile and the company was good, How the music was played and the sound quality were a very small part of the road trip experience!! mrtn I still have an 8 track and a recorder if you ever need to experience what you missed.!
  18. Diesels are always in the process of dissembling them selves.
  19. Can't help with the remote start. But the door cards are the same as the Passenger's and they come in a very reasonable looking black plastic . Much better and more finished.
