  1. Check the Grounds and here is a link to some very good info on the Immobilizer system . http://www.diagwiki.com/ford-pats-immobilizer Looking for clues myself
  2. It should be plug and play, But If the dash lights up and functions that is probably not the problem. If the switch was failing to engage the starter it would have started when you jumped the starter solenoid
  3. That sound very exciting looking forward to the pictures.
  4. You have put the two battery cables in contact with each other? How may coded keys do you have? Were both keys used in the lock you hit? The Rust could be an issue and if there is rust there the fuses might need to be pulled and cleaned
  5. You could be right Here is something to try . Disconnect both battery cables and put the two cables together to completely drain all the residual energy from the system. This is know as a hard reset and might work it can't hurt Remember both cables must be off the Battery.
  6. The answer is both, some do have their own power some do not. Is there any mold or dampness in the fuse box areas? Did you download the manual yet? The section on the Immobilizer is worth looking at.
  7. Check and see if the scan tool lights up with power at the Obd connector . Check out the Immobilizer section of the manual. Any water leak's in the TC/
  8. Go to ford UK and down load an owner's manual with your Vin Number. I down loaded the 2002 version from Ford UK.
  9. Do you have the owners manual or can you download a copy?
  10. The large terminal on the starter is hot all the time so the length is very short.
  11. Have you jumped the starter with the Key on to see if it starts? Make sure it is in neutral with the brake set.
  12. That a lovely Job and a Lovely Dog. Where will the trips take you?
  13. Nice Keep the pictures coming. Hows the Budget holding up?
  14. I would like to see the break down of that bill. The Front Bearing is between 45.00 and 85.00 and the flat rate is less than 4 hour's Sounds like you should shop the next bearing job around.
  15. The big mirrors are an option here as well but most dealers will not option them into a spec vehicle. The biggest problem I have with the spot mirror is where it is located. If it were on the inside corner of the main mirror it could give a better field of view. The other advantage for me is it would not disrupt your eye when you scan the full mirror for vehicles. As mrtn's great picture shows the mirror's are much more reliable than the camera.
  16. Nice find on the Bulkhead , Here's a solar vent from West Marine that does not need any wiring. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/nicro-ventilation--air-vent-500--530956
  17. Auto Zone has a good selection of clips and most likely has the right ones at a reasonable price
  18. My pickup has an 8 foot bed and holds all the passengers I need. For what I use it for it is great!!
