Trailer hitch- bolt on vs. welded on
G B L replied to Saltwater's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Definitely a bolt on, The wiring adapter also available and easy to install . For US customers E-trailer is a great resource. Not sure if they ship to international customers -
Home Depot and Lowe's both rent trucks . I use a trailer with mine, that makes it easy .

They must have the EU Cars and the US cars combined. The engine choices included the 1.0 3 cylinder that is also not available in the US -

The 1.5 Turbo is not offered here. Ford must have not thought the emissions certification was worth the cost because the numbers would be too small. It would have been a good option. -

With the 19 " rubber you might get better traction results by getting a better rain-snow tire. mrtn I am with you with the 1" lift or a road grader for my road -
It is coming along very nicely carry on!!

If you look on page 7 of the 2011 guide that Don supplied you will see that the added floor for the van is an added part and could be removed. Good luck with your plan keep us in the loop and love to see pictures

Passenger vehicles have a much lower tariff so the Transit Connect vans come in with some side windows and a second row of seats. After they arrive the seats and windows are stripped and then the vehicles move on. Have not seen the interior from the work version to know what it is or how it was installed. There must be some holes some where.

Don I would use the ramps twice a year once to change the oil. Then check the Transmission fluid twice a year. The Ford recommendation of taking it to the dealer if it shifts funny is not a good plan.

I you find the right fabricator you Can put a towbar on that car.

Welcome Laura Mitchel Love to see the pictures of your build. The curtain hangers could be put on the trim with a structural epoxy that would more than do the Job and would not interfere with the air bag operation.

The Oil change notice will come on when due. If you have the right scanner you can check the oil life percentage.

I bet if you leave the TC in the right place in most cities the Crooks will have a full set of keys and help you out.
-
That's the standard key for those wheels Ford should have it . Did you check the glove box it is in there with the fuel funnel for the emergency fuel fill . The Ford dealer is not trying.

Nice job Don inverters kill lots of batteries!
-
When the inverter is on and brewing the load will be 184 amps for the time of the brew. If it takes 1 minute to brew the coffee it will need 184 amps for the one minute so the breaker will need to be at least 184 amps and the wire size will need to support that number of amps It will be a similar load as the Starter running for 1 minute. You will want a house battery near the Inverter and it will be a good idea to keep the car running .

i have done several oil changes with Motor craft 5-20 I usually do the change at about 20% on the oil life. I use My TC to pull a trailer often so I did the Transmission fluid at 25000 miles and the fluid had been worked I would opt for changing it more often than the factory spec There is no Under coating from the factory A very good product is a Canadian product called Corrosion Free, it stays soft does not drip and is transparent so it does not hide any thing. A good set of Flaps Behind the front wheels to protect the rocker panel area is the best rust protection. The best thing you did for rust protection is not live in the North where there is a lot of snow and Ice . That fact limits the road salt on the under side of the TC

Looks like they did a great job . It should work well for you
