The more polite the drivers the better the Roundabout ( Rotary's in Massachusetts) will work at all traffic levels. The Car in the roundabout has the right away here also.

The 2.5 is good at 2500, but it likes to rev so you really feel it come alive at 3000. When you need it is feels good to about 5200 on the tach.

I have changed the Battery on my gen 2 the video is correct except for steps 5-7 which are not from a TC. All and all a good Video

I drove the Gen 1 Auto with the 2.0 a year before buying the Gen 2 that I now have. The 4 speed auto was adequate . I think the 2.5 engine size up grade made the Gen 2 performance difference.

When did Co institute an inspection? it must have been recent. The 2.5 is completely adequate but not earth shaking. You should get the Ford people to give you a TC loaner and you could take it up to Monarch pass on US 50 and that would give you a good Idea of the performance. If the Chrysler does not present a service issue then the Ford should not be one either . In regards to working on it if Your dealer has a competent staff the drive train is almost Identical to the Escape and should not be a problem. I am not a Dealer person. The service I have done on mine has been fairly routine It has not made me think that the TC is any harder to service than any other Van type vehicle. The 6 speed transmission is set up too keep the engine in the right power zone and shifts often . If the engine is under 3.5 liters and not turbo charged that is what you get oh well!!

I have heard that on the Gen 1's if the boot that seals the coil packs goes bad water collects in the Spark plug recesses and can cause a miss. How long since you have changed the Plugs? It could be worth a look.

A good scan will tell if you have had a miss fire or not

Eberspacher makes auxiliary heater that runs on both gas and diesel. that would make an install easier . heater_range_commercial_uk_22387.pdf

The other reason for not using the heater fan is that to replace the fan motor if it dies is a major job. If in fact you have a wagon with rear windows you could make a panel that just fits in the window opening for the fantastic fan.

The worst case is when you Carefully drill out the cylinder then you will have to get a new lock cyl to replace it. Do you have a small inspection mirror to put in through the grill to see where the locking clip is located. I do not have the correct manual and the parts breakout is not detailed enough to see what the clip looks like. I am sure that you can find a TC some where to open the hood on and see what holds the lock cyl in. mrtn or 103west 43rd open the hood on your 2012 and snap a photo of the back of the lock assembly, and post it !!

I am not sure Which TC you are taking about. Mine a 2014 XLT Wagon the horn sounds once if you hit the lock button on the Fob twice. Your situation could arise from the wrong button being pressed several times.

Well as it turns out you bought exactly the right vehicle for your needs. Your mods were very nice. I have made many modifications to vehicles in the past that were changed back after the Reality set in.

mrtn That is a great price but getting the Tc to your shop is hard for us. Did you see the old bearing ? most of the one's I see there is definitely water intrusion and rust and little evidence of heat. If a larger tire 205/70/16 would give almost .5 inch more side wall and could improve the ride with out changing the off set, and should clear all the wheel openings. You would need to make sure the tire has the load rating
