  1. The best part of the TC is it is a very adaptable platform. Thanks for becoming a member.
  2. The way the gas goes into the tank on the TC if they were going to steal it they would drill a hole in the tank and catch from the bottom. The only worry about the unlocked gas door would be some one putting foreign stuff in the tank.
  3. I have the NOCO 150 and several Regular sealed lead acid booster packs. If you are going to have one for emergency's get one big enough to do the Job! The butt it will save will be yours.
  4. You will need the Vin of the Focus to Identify the final drive ratio that the Focus has, The TC vin will also tell what the final drive ratio is set to at the moment.
  5. Well that very good to know. Is there a reason given for the color change? . The fluid with the Lv spec is also rated for the Allison 1000 Transmission . It does not change color in that transmission . I have used the Motorcraft MerconLV and The Valvoline Max Life in the TC, They both change colors. I have also used the Valvoline Max Life in an Allison 1000 transmission. It has not changed color in the Allison. This trans still works the fluid hard so I will not feel bad about changing the fluid.

    Catch Can

The Catch can is a good idea. Using a high end Synthetic oil will also help to minimize the oil vapor intake carbon problem.
  7. The Trans fluid in this vehicle seems to be worked hard. I have changed mine twice at 25000 mi intervals, each time the fluid had a noticeable color change. It is your call . My manual says that transmissions do not use fluid and if you experience odd shifts to take it to the Dealer. If you have a vehicle long enough they all use fluid . No vehicle had died from using fluid , they all die from running out of fluid.
  8. 4 cylinder engines with automatic transmissions have always had a nervous idle. When you add the AC and electrical load the bumpy idle is quite apparent. The only down side is the momentary embarrassment of hearing the engine rev with out any motion.
  9. If you watch a drifting video, tire destruction is not anywhere in the thought process. The main parts are smoke and a good selfie video.
  10. If there is provision for a tow hook you can be sure that you can do some serious damage to the car if you hook on to it incorrectly. It makes it much saver for the wrecker to make the tow out of the ditch much less painful. I have seen lots of damaged cars that a friend helped pull out of the ditch.
  11. What happens when you wiggle the rubber loom that goes between the lift gate and the body? The all the wires that operate the components in the lift gate pass through that bell owes. if there is a wiring harness issue that would be a good place to start.
  12. Do yourself a favor and never use this type of splice on any type of wiring unless it is for some one you do not like. These are quick and cheap and very unreliable. The twist on wire nut definitely have issues with vibration. The posi Tap connectors are good . As Don has stated The best is crimping or soldering with heat shrink
  13. Sounds like the manual was written after someone found the design flaw in the reel!!
  14. I will try and drive the Diesel if any Dealer has one. The Design issues can be worked out of the power plant, but the 40+ Hp penalty could be more of an issue. As time wears on the seat and ability to control the radio with out an issue out weighs the mechanical coolness.
  15. If they drain the trans to do the seal they will put in about 4.5 liters, if they do a flush it will be about 12 liters .
  16. Which Diesel does it have ? Did you say it is faster than your ecoboost?
  17. Ah yes the transmission weep. I have been watching mine for 65000mi, a few oz between oil changes . It is very very consistent . They will drain the Trans to do the seal so that would be a good time to do a flush. The Cooling system Recall will install a coolant level sensor and software to make sure the engine does not overheat and crack the Cyl Head making a fire risk. A low coolant level sensor would be good for every Vehicle on the road . The Lpg tank is where the Spare tire use to be right? That would be in a place where water and road salt could get to, Corrosion would be a real possibility. The LPG is still a good thing?
  18. If you get a good scanner it will have the transmission information including the fluid temp. You can see what the trans is running for temp with out the trailer, and then see what the temp is with the trailer. That as Eddy Kilowatt indicated will give you a very good starting point . I use mine for towing a lot Keeping the fluid fresh is one of the best things you can do.
  19. I know there was a issue with the 2.0 where the plug well could fill up with water if the boot was not right . This could cause water to enter the engine through the valve cover. How many times did they have to change the oil to get the traces of water out?
  20. Alas like the adjustable head lights and the Instrument cluster storage We in North America are not allowed the electric van option!!
  21. tworock I have done the fluid change twice. My interval is 25000 mi , I tow a trailer a fair amount, its an easy job. The Trans works the fluid hard.
  22. Azure went out of business for warranty purposes in 2012 . The factory support is not going to be there . If the TC's operational parameters meet your need, then the Question of the day is Do you feel lucky!!
