  1. If you look at the Video on the changing of the Throttle body that you posted , when the throttle body is removed the tech only disconnects the wiring harness and the bolts. There was no throttle cable , it must be drive by wire.
  2. The car companies seem to be using the number of speeds as part of the marketing strategy's. Electric motors are very good for traction motor service . The fuel capacity issue is the major hold up in the electric car progress.
  3. It has an input in the console, It is analog I cannot tell you how well it works as I have not used it. I have yet to use the CD Player. I am a Radio guy.
  4. Hey if you find a V-6 I am in! I have read that the 2019 is going to have a Diesel and a 2.0 liter Direct Injection Gas with more speeds in the Trans . The trans is suppose to Reduce the effect of the power loss. They seem to be going the wrong way.
  5. If the radio is like mine with a CD player it will be easy to learn with lots of button for the channel presets .
  6. True but a pair of pliers, screw driver and an adjustable wrench would get you home, now its triple A. When you get your TC learn how to turn off the Traction control . That will be important.
  7. If you are prone to self service and you get a reasonable scanner then the TC is not hard to service there are plenty of after market parts. The TC has as many annoying jobs as do most newer cars. Some of the tasks are easy some are hard. V-6 where do you get one of those?
  8. The diagram shows the engine sensor actuator and the actuator run by the foot petal
  9. That is a good video, The throttle is by wire there is an electric throttle module on the top of the accelerator pedal that signals the throttle body how much to open. If what you changed does not solve the issue the pedal signal could still be a cause. If you have a data view scanner you can check the throttle signal from the pedal
  10. The only thing that cannot be changed in the equation is how much HP it takes to move 1800 Kg . Hp = gal or Liters per mile or kilometers . As for the Tune up if you still had the Nova Pertronix makes a points replacement module for the dist that would end the 3500mi tune up.
  11. If you get a good grade scanner and record a drive the shift history should provide valuable information. I do not have any experience with a gen 1 but if it has a drive by wire throttle the pedal should be checked also.
  12. That should be close 1/2 " is just shy of 13 MM
  13. There is a good video on resetting the transmission shift program . The shift quality of this trans can definitely change . Does your Butt-O-Meter have a pucker setting?
  14. Sounds good The Dyno was a Nice touch
  15. Watch out what you wish for, If you have a good Trans that shifts well a very small oil weep could turn into a major headache if the fix is not carried out well. mrtn soon the hood will be welded closed and the display will just tell you it is time for a new car!!
  16. I have two sets of wheels and the Summer tires are 215/60/16, and the the current set of winters are stock 215/55/16 . The size difference in my case is unnoticeable. The Ride quality is the major asset in the size change. The vehicle mileage undergoes a definite penalty as the temperature declines. This must also be figured into the mileage equation along with the tire size.
  17. You should see behind my shop!
  18. A 15 could fit the rear but it is definitely no go in the front on a gen 2. I looked into it for mine , I was trying to increase the tire sidewall height to improve ride and protect the wheels.

    Oil

    You Cheat using LPG!!
  20. The computer is programed by people who do not think you should drive in the snow. With out the ability to shut off the Traction Control the TC would be almost useless in the snow. If the programmer was not constrained by the lawyers there could be a snow mode that would make the Traction Control into a competent positraction aide .
  21. Great conversation. There is one more thing. When out the door price is a top concern then the more parts you have the more chance for cheap parts that need replacement early.
  22. He is a good tech I have watched his videos before. I will still change the fluid at regular intervals to keep track of the fluid for metal debris. The fluid change does not take me very long and I have a good way of getting rid of the used fluid. I do not want to have to watch the how to change a Transmission Video that I am sure he has made!!
  23. Great. Brandport.com is a very nice web site
  24. The Important thing is the conical seat being the same as the wheel . The non capped Acorn style nuts will have a smaller OD than the OEM Capped nuts. If you live up in the road salt belt you want to remove the Capped nuts before you are stuck on the side of the road unable to change a flat tire.
