The Tire psi max is to insure that the tire will perform at the rated load . The placard it there to make sure the supplied tires are not run with too little pressure for the load. The new tires carry the same psi to rated load . The tire will carry the load at the indicated psi.

Thank you for the up date. I think the Transmission control computer adapts the shift patterns automatically. The only priority is the speedometer error is important.
-
I went from 215/55/16 size tire to 215/60/16 size tires. The Ride improved The speedometer error was marginal and the Transmission Shift quality and performance are unchanged. jrm233 I want a full up date on the driving impressions . Please keep track of the possible Scrub issues. I am very happy with the changes I made to My TC

The Auto headlights should not drain the battery too much as the lights will go off if the ignition is switched off. I have one vehicle with auto head lights, one with day time running lights , and the TC with out either of those. I think that you will adjust to the lights and operations. As for the Needing a boost to get started I have had random times when the TC has decided that it might be nice if I used my booster pack and for no apparent reason has a discharged battery. I Keep a booster pack at the ready. It must be the many decades of driving old vehicles.

Rear Heating Problems, 2014 Transit Connect LWB Titanium
G B L replied to mrgone's topic in Climate Control
The rear heater on the wagon has a booster heater that raises the temp of the Air supplied under the Left Front seat by the front air controller. It works best on cold days it the air is mostly sent to the floor in the front with the temp control on both the front and rear heaters on high. The Vents behind the second seat for the third row are disabled in the heading mode. The Rear unit has a separate evaporator for the Air conditioner. Ford was more interested in the Rear cooling than the heating. There is a high output booster heater that is an option mostly for the Taxi version. If I knew what I know now and made a special order TC I would option that in. With the controls set the way I outlined the Rear heat is completely adequate. -

2014 - 2016 Stainless Grille Dress Up Kit
G B L replied to Beta Don's topic in Exterior Parts & Panels
If you ever have to remove the plate , use an electric heat gun it will make the adhesive weaken and allow for easy removal. -
Thanks Don I will check it out.

Thanks for the info on the titanium, I will check into it. The disc brake parts here in the northeast have other causes for shorter pad and rotor life.

Do you have a sorce for sheet titanium?

GEN 2 ROOF RACKS & TRACKS INSTALL
G B L replied to windguy's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Thanks for the porfile picture. if you set the fence right and have the correct blade you can gain the clearance needed. it will make all the drilled holes functional and easy to seal. Could be an elegant solution Keep us posted on the job! -
That sounds like a neat solution. The gen 2 wheel bearings are larger than the gen 1, that alone helps some. The way my tc is loaded the rear pads and rotors are loaded and needed replacement first.

Rain sencein windshield?
G B L replied to Bart Luther's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
My XLT does not have the rain sensing wipers. Maybe the next one. -
With the right bearing tool the strut does not have to be pulled and the job is fast. That's a fair price. Your bearing failed early, sounds like a defect.

Rear door slamming into me in high wind!

Lot's of great ideas on this Thread! -
Make sure to get a record in with where you purchased the Tc. The transmission shift is adaptive so if you disconnect the battery it will go through the learn process and could change how it shifts.

If you Take a 3/16 Drill (Cobalt is the best) Drill two holes at 180 Degrees from each other You will be able to split the nut with a narrow chisel. Then it will spin off with some snap ring pliers. The other Lug nuts are also sleeved in Stainless and if you live in a part of the country that uses salt or Mag Chloride you want to get rid of those also as the rust build up between the sleeve and the nut will make the tire change a very trying operation at some point .

No LED trailer lighting?
G B L replied to Prairie Dog's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
I used the Curt trailer module when I put a hitch on my TC. The Wells Cargo trailer I own has Led lights and they function perfectly . The two other trailers without led light also function normally. -
GEN 2 ROOF RACKS & TRACKS INSTALL
G B L replied to windguy's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Looking at the end view on Windguy's track the extrusion is hollow. That fact kills my Idea of Trimming the track down to the 1 and 11/16 that you need to go into the channel in the roof channel.. It would have allowed the tracks to be installed with the same holes. Too bad. -
Fifty 150 I agree with you. GM is famous for the introduction of advanced stuff followed by marginal support and then pulling the plug just as the Idea will start to catch on.
-
Your TC is acting normally. 4 cyl's with automatic transmissions don't have the idle quality that a 6 cyl or 8 cyl has. GM had two Hybrid Pickups 2005 and 2009 to 2013 Series 2

GEN 2 EXT REAR LIGHTING
G B L replied to windguy's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
Lots good information. My TC has a back up camera, but as all of the other vehicles in the fleet do not. I check the rear and have become proficient with the mirrors.
