I think that you use what ever technology is available on the vehicle you are using at the time. My tc has a camera, the other vehicles do not . All tow trailers.

No LED trailer lighting?
G B L replied to Prairie Dog's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Mike There is something is a miss with your trailer wiring adapter Most of the modules have a power line supplies power . it does not load the actual light circuit in the car so the lights flash at normal speed. -
Nice view, I have a portable lift that would fit in your Apt. The stairs would be hard though!

Fifty 150 This is what I use

The cars last very well in Vegas but all the rubber and plastic parts get killed by the sun. Any coating used as rust proofing needs to stay soft, a hard coating like Line-X will hide the rust if any water penetrates the coating.

Up here Driving style might wear the Pads out. It is the dirt and salt that ruin the rotors . The pads had 40-50 % left . The rear pads wore faster On My rig, they got changed a year ago at 45000 miles

I have the California air compressor the noise difference is worth the price they are very well made. Once you run the two styles side buy side the choice will be clear.

Before you buy an Air Compressor check out These units Home Depot has them, So does Northern Tool . Very Very Quiet.

Choosing auto instead
G B L replied to FiorinotoFord's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
I am with you, The mileage difference is small and the drive-ability of the Auto is my prefference. -
69440 Miles , Three winters. Hard service in the north east!

I have used lots of different brands of filters, When I change them I use a filter cutter to get element out to drain the oil out . I have found that some of the filters are nicely made and some are not. The Napa and Wix are the same and well made. The Fram is not as nice. The SuperTech and Purolator are well put together . I have just purchased an STP Mid range and I will report on it when I change the oil next and cut it open.

If you can find the right color the plastic Rattle can paint works very well. The plastic additive for the automotive paint also works well but is more involved.

Do you have a picture of the jack. The small steel jacks i have seen have a much narrower stance so the Harbor freight jack seem more stable.
-
You made a great choice welcome. I think about what I would order then find the unit that has most of what I want nearest me and save the 4 months of uncertainty.

I am too old, having a Radio with dedicated buttons that I can use with out looking is my choice.

The 1.5 Ton is enough for a road Jack. The TC even at full load is 1500 lbs a wheel . The size and weight of the Aluminum jack is very good. I will keep the forum up dated on the service i get from the Jack.
-
Yes it is two piece and removable from the Jack. I have had good luck with the one I bought
-
You never know when you will be on the side of the road with a flat. Having one of these gets me home fast.

If it is a Gen 2 the 15" wheels won't clear the brakes.

Have you scanned the TC. Fuel filter, Fuel Pump or in tank sock Maybe.

Long Wheel base or Tourneo Sliding door fit a SWB Connect?
G B L replied to Funrider's topic in Accessories and Modifications
While the Long wheelbase door won't fit . One off a Short Wheelbase Tourneo Connect will fit. I think that the blue van needs a different color caulking around the window! -
The real key is using an approved oil and keeping it clean. Now that most engines have long timing chains running over plastic chain guides and hydraulically run cam timing , the oil change has become even more important. Direct injection has also raised the bar as the oil vapor from the crankcase is an issue for the intake valves. One more point is every oil filter regardless of price or quality has a by pass valve that protects the filter. This means unfiltered oil circulates through the engine lots of the time, so keeping the oil clean is even more important.

Trouble Starting- Help!
G B L replied to VTransit's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Don is correct the first thing to do is hook up a scan tool and check the codes. The next thing I would do is to find the start relay and pull it out and check the connections. If the scan tool t has live data set it up to check the start relay and see what happens.
