  1. The whole car is controlled By the CAN network It is all done with digital signals.
  2. They Have a Taxi version with A rear seat. A Van you would not mind Drilling a hole in the Console !
  3. Keep us Posted on the Plastic Sump . If you Can Take a picture. Thanks
  4. I have the same thing. Works very well. Getting the Spare out from under the TC if you have a flat is a challenge.
  5. The Motorcraft part Number (FP-75 )is correct The filter I ordered arrived and is the right one.
  6. A Great Idea I have used those on a few boats. .You have me thinking.
  7. Not yet on the Haynes Manual. The Turn signals are controlled by the Body Control Module . No flasher.
  8. Thanks for the up date. Mine is on the list I will be getting a letter.
  9. I would love to see what the TC's that come into the country and are converted to a van look like. I suspect that the interior set up is not as good as the real wagon. It would be nice to see a pre conversion photo of the inside.
  10. The Gen 1 has 48.1" Between the Wheel house's . The Gen 2 Van has 48.3" between the Wheel house's. The Gen 2 Wagon has 46.9" between the wheel house's. The Gen 1 is 6+" inches taller . If the 48"X48" is not to high it will fit in both Vans. I miss the Gen 1 270 degree door opening.
  11. As a Gen 2 owner and having driven the Gen 1. If the absolute height is the issue then your answer is the Gen 1 . The Drive ability of the Gen 2 is better . The brakes on the Gen 2 are much better . The seats will take any load the TC can handle folded flat . Removing the third seat take under an hour . I have 2 sets of wheels winter and summer the tpms is no issue. The Vehicle rust issue is definitely dependent on where the TC does most of its miles. mrtn is correct about the mud, slush and salt spray, good flaps are very important.
  12. The us market must not have been the only reason for the up date . Ford must have decided that the line needed a change. The EU has a much greater selection of Vans. Having the Transit Custom in the line allowed Ford to streamline the Transit Connect without leaving a big hole in their offering's
  13. I found the 13 pin module in the wiring diagram, not sure that is available here. mrtn How may wires or contacts does your trailer connector have? Here trailers are not required to have brakes until the weight is 3000 lbs. Ford rates the TC to tow 2000 lbs. Here is a link to a brake controller install video on a 2013 ford Escape. The layout of the Escape is very close to the TC. it should help https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-tekonsha-prodigy-p3-brake-controller
  14. The Motorcraft part number is FP-75 and it is available at Ford, Jegs, Amazon , Frugal Mechanic, PartsGeek and others.
  15. I knew the gas was now I know the diesel is also. Thanks
  16. Hey This says it all!! This is from National Geographic
  17. Is the Throttle Linkage mechanical on your TC or is it Electronic?
  18. Great Point! If the voltage is high enough to arc from the sky to the ground, Then 1/2 inch, 6 inches or a mile probably won't be enough.
  19. I have always heard that the metal frame provided a sort of safety cage for the bulk of the power to pass around you to the ground. The power in a Lightning bolt is tremendous and unpredictable. It is very good that Osco ended up with a Good roll of the dice.
  20. I have not measured them but they should be ok. There should be speakers in the window pillars for sure. Go to the sound settings and Bump up the Trebble and you should hear the speakers.
  21. I sure does. Glad is was not worse. Looking forward to the rest of the story.
  22. Sounds like a good plan, Pay attention to the valve timing when the timing cover is changed. http://www.ask.com/youtube?q=Ford+2.0+liter+focus+engine+valve+timing&v=RqwnDmDkZrQ&qsrc=472 Keep us posted on the adventure.
