G B L replied to mijab's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
The third row folds flat and the second row seat folds and moves forward and will be flat. The space between the wheel house is 47+ inches. -
Transit Loosing Ignition power while driving, please help!
G B L replied to PATWS6's topic in Powertrain Tech
Not having the networking diagram for a gen 1 my best guess is a power fault or a bad ground at the instrunent control module or the Module that controls the radio -

Transit Loosing Ignition power while driving, please help!

When this issue happens does the engine turn off and you have to stop or does the display and radio stop working and you have to switch the ignition on and off to restore the total function. -
Aftermarket wheels for 2014 Transit Connect Wagon
G B L replied to John Comiez's topic in Wheels & Tires
Tire Rack has lots of wheels that fit . Go to Tire Rack .com and put in the vehicle info and there are 0ver 50 different wheels of stock size or larger that will fit. The site has a photo simulator that puts all the wheels on the TC. Have fun looking -
mrtn you will have to check one out as we over here do not have direct access to that option.

If there was a way to grease the bearings the rate of bearing failure would go down 90% Almost All the failure's are water related.

The driver interface would be critical. The other unknown is how it affects the life of the starter and the ring gear. The projected fuel savings might be small if the TBO (Time Before Overhaul) for those parts is reduced by a significant amount

Just put 2300 miles on a rental Titanium.

The lift gate is available on all models here Wagon and Van, but finding a Lift gate Van on the lot would be more difficult . I think I was fortunate to find a Black XLT wagon with Swing door's. The 1.6 was never available for A TC that I would buy so I can't miss something that could never happen. -

The used car web sites have lots of used TC wagons I even saw a Red Titanium. The only thing I noticed is most of the passenger wagons have lift gate's. The thinking must be most mini van people want lift gate's . Swing doors for me! I will have to check out wraps , they sound interesting. -
There is a very good thread on vent's under Cargo area Vents in Accessories and modifications you should check it out. Nice job on your conversion..

WTB oversized mirrors for Gen 2 TC
G B L replied to bikinchris's topic in Transit Connect Parts For Sale
Ford USA makes that series mirror an option, The biggest problem with the US standard mirror is the wide angle mirror is in the wrong place. The side of the TC is not visible so there no useful reference in the image. mrtn are the mirrors on your rig electric ? -
Nice report. The propane conversion is really going to work out for you. I will be interested in the long term durability of the kit. Keep us updated from time to time.

The difference between the cargo and the titanium would be noticeable If you have the Vin of the one you rented you should be able to track it down. -

12 volt run from battery to rear floor
G B L replied to buckethead's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Cool that will be good. The alt is is 150 amp unit, and the output wire is about 10 gauge. If the Camper power is coming off the second battery then 10 gauge will handle the 25 amp charging load fine. Sounds like a great project! -
Did you get enough to replace the TC. Save the Wheels!!

Transit Loosing Ignition power while driving, please help!
G B L replied to PATWS6's topic in Powertrain Tech
What is the battery voltage with the engine off ? What is the battery voltage with engine running ? What happens to the voltage when the lights and heater fan are switched on? Does the engine falter when every thing switches off? If the engine does not falter then the supply power to the Module that controls the ac,radio and instrument cluster is intermittent. It could be a ground or the supply voltage.I have not yet gotten a gen 1 wiring diagram so I am some what limited . -

A couple of question's What is the purpose of the second battery? Where do you want to put it? Is this a van or a wagon -
12 volt run from battery to rear floor
G B L replied to buckethead's topic in Accessories and Modifications
Looks like a good rig should work well. Number 10 wire would handel the load with a very minor voltage drop. Make sure there is a fuse at each battery . -
Great looking forward to the info. Sounds like a good thing for you!
