Fifty 150 sounds like the accountants were Ford guy's. The life of a windscreen is good til the next rock. The only defense is having enough distance to the vehicle in front of you . Having done that you have a better chance to avoid the debris. Not 100 %

And that luxury Benz Price

Welcome chong I look forward to your travels and performance reports when you take Your TC up to altitude.

chong its 1% per 1000 feet and you are one of the few people that the Turbo engine is perfect for.

The other problem with the Firestone Explorer was that Ford used a tire designed to run much more pressure and pressed Firestone to endorse it . The Safe solution was to have Firestone design and build a tire that gave the explorer the desired ride with ample safety. I have seen several Cows do very well on Ice!

the Mercedes Metris is sized like the Ford Transit Custom . The Transit Custom is one size bigger that the Transit Connect.

Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
G B L replied to 103west43rd's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
The TC's Instrument panel Lights are on all the time it is just part of the operating parameters of the vehicle. It should be possible for the BCM to be programed with the DRL feature. -
Here is the post I did on the Transmission Change. The hardest part of this operation will be getting the TC Jacked up. Should be almost level . Remove the Under body dust shield . Look for the Drain Plug. 11 mm or 7/16 wrench. ] This style funnel will slide down into the Vent plug you just removed Put 3 quarts of fluid in [attacjpg] ] Run the TC for 5 to 10 minutes . Then drain the fluid again. Repeat this 2 more times You have Now used 9 quarts of fluid. Put the Drain plug back in make it snug this time. Add 3 quarts of fluid You have now used 12 quarts. Go under the car and Look for the indicator plug (14 mm wrench) Loosen the plug. Do not remove yet Start the engine with the engine running and the Car in park pull the plug and add fluid into the funnel until it just drips out the Indicator hole Replace plug put the Dust shield on , Pull the funnel and replace the vent cap. Total Fluid 13 Qts. With most of number 13 left There is no filter to change on this operation and the type of fluid is Mercon LV. Have fun!

That is the fill it is just behind the air filter box. The Checking procedure is to put the TC on a flat surface or a lift .with the engine idling remove the sight bolt just in front of left half-shaft , the fluid will just drip out . If you pull the plug out and the engine is not running a large mess will be made. I have posted pictures in another post. This is not hard just a pain

If Renault has anything to do with it, I am dubious.

Maybe over there but not here . Have You checked ? It will be next to the battery box. If it is take a picture

Not sure but I would not be surprised!

I have had lots of those , The GM Version. They all would take a 4x8 sheet of plywood between the wheel wells.

Fifty 150 you just described the Suburban the president uses

The torque is in a different place. I have three trailers I pull with the TC I own and the performance is completely adequate at the load rating. If I were going to pay extra for more power then I would want substantially more power.

Considering Transit Connect - Gen 1
G B L replied to kxrf's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Sounds like you have the car you wanted. The Taxi version of the LWB has only two seats now, I suspect the fleet version will be the same. Make sure the flaps are long enough and extend into the wheel well far enough to be effective . -
If the market were there they could put a stronger Transmission, and Power or economy setting in the information center and come up with a really great rig that could have really good towing specs.

Almost Joined you

I have the wagon and the Barn Doors were the reason I looked at the TC in the first place. Once you get use to the mirrors and the Back up cam the center post will not be an issue. The utility of the back doors is much better . As for the latch recall lean on the dealer . They want to move that car and will get the latches pretty fast if they know the sale will go through -
Great points. Ford's idea about this vehicle sets the tone. The engine performance option added 9 hp and moved the torque curve. They have removed that option for 2017! If performance were in anybody's thoughts the optional engine would have been a 2.0 liter ecoboost at around 245 hp.

Rear hatch license plate mounting holes
G B L replied to kookmyers's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
Where I live if you get a paper plate they mail them to you, if you get a new "Wanker" plate they mail them to you also. If you have your own "Wanker" plate you do a transfer. If you do not get the car from an in state dealer you go to the dmv your self with the paper work. -

The relay cycles when you switch the ignition off? For how long. If it cycles can you trace where you hear the noise? -
Towing with the Transit Connect
G B L replied to isellford's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Good info on the transmission. The Gen 1 has a 4 speed trans with a pan that you take off when the fluid gets changed. I suspect that the filter was not installed properly . The Gen 2's filter can not be changed with out spliting the transmission case. In any event making sure the fluid is not over heated by towing is the major point. -
Towing with the Transit Connect
G B L replied to isellford's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
The TC is a very capable tow rig. The 2 inch reciever is great because it makes towing hardware usable on more vehicles. The tow rating is a product of the Warranty department, and the Lawyers . The sporty nature of the TC Survives towing quite well. mrtn sandbaged? -
