If it was a real standard you would not have an indicator on the display. You would know what gear by the road speed and the Rpm's.

The wheel bearings on the Gen 2 are the same part number as the Gen 1 . The major cause of bearing failure is water intrusion. Time will tell how they hold up. The transmission is different. With proper care should give good service. I am sure other stuff will break !

Its the rear defroster, the window regulators , seat heaters AC . These are the things that bug people to trade their cars. The drive shaft usually does not fail it is the U-Joint and then the shaft falls out on the road

Here is the picture of the 2013 Fiesta Hatch back kit . It looks like the same plugs

2013 Ford Fiesta Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector (hatch Back ) Seems to have the same plugs as your TC. Get the people at E-Trailer Takes some good pictures of the plugs so you can compare. Keep us posted

Thanks the Plot thickens

Which side of the TC is that connector on? Is the one on the other side the same?

I see you found the on off and I Agree we all should have the switch and it should be one button on the wheel. It would be nice to see if the Starters for the On off system are more robust.

Good oil, Changed at some regular period will allow the car to reach the useful end of its service life. If the only thing worn out was the engine then more people would replace the engine. It is all the other stuff that stops working that makes the average owner get a new car. If you get the TBN test every time you pay for an additional oil change every third oil change.

2014 Transmission fluid level check/refill.
G B L replied to Johnyguy's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
Here's the post I did on the fluid change it should make every thing very Clear -
The environmental cost of a vehicle has much more importance in the EU and UK. This would carry through to the maintenance routine.

There is no official fix and my leak is just a weep so I check the fluid regularly . My TC Runs and shifts very nicely so I am not messing with it. -

i changed mine at 25000 and it needed it . The oil in this Transmission it worked hard. -
The harness's are different because the feed point on the barn doors is from both sides for the wipers and the window heater and the hatchback has the feed on the roof. Two different harness's the opportunity for different connectors or wiring lay out. Do you have a picture of the Hatch back connector's so we could see the difference.

Between 4000 to 7000 miles. The TC has been on Motorcraft so far. That could change as my other vehicles are on different Oil and if it was time and I have the correct amount of something else it could go in. All the major oil brands are more that adequate for the job . Having the correct amount of clean oil is much more important than the brand. I think that the fancy air cleaners most important improvement is in the internal image of the car owner.

Running heavy fife wire from battery to caro area
G B L replied to Novice's topic in 2002-2013 Ford Transit Connect
Very nice. Make sure the grounds are good if you are not running a ground wire buss with your distribution box. -
The Gen 2 Tc's have two ways the Traction control is switched on and off. If you have the steering wheel information control it is switched on and off there, and if you have the basic model it is a switch on the center console in front of the shifter. The biggest issue I have with the traction control is the low speed operation. If there was a Low speed algorithm and a road speed algorithm, it would be very good.

IF you have a Gen 2 there is a fuse box in the right rear that has ample power for the trailer -
I have done a lot of engine transplants on Boat's . The project is a good one. The unknown's can drive up the cost dramatically, make sure you have extra funds so you can finish it. . I think you will end up with a cool rig. Press on

After-Purchase Report
G B L replied to tcconvert's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
The Van has 48.3 between the wheel house and the wagon Has 46.9 between the wheel house, With the barn door' open one or 2 sheets will be transportable in both version's The long wheelbase wagon version will be an easier thing to find and once the door is closed and you are looking out of the windshield you will get over the mini van look.
