Added my own Accessory Fuse Box
G B L replied to DonShockley's topic in Accessories and Modifications
If you are running a 2 K inverter you want to run both a positive and a negative Directly from the Battery and you need 2Gage or bigger wire with a fuse at the battery. If the you load the inverter and the engine is not running the battery will last less than 15 minutes. -
MPG while towing a motorcycle?
G B L replied to omniphil's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Yes they were, but you could overload it by 100% and not break it -
Have you been running 93 octane all the time? Have you ever run 87 if so could you tell the difference.

The seat is there, its is folded forward -
The stud size is M12X1.5 on both the 2010 and the 2014. The torque for the 2010 is 66Lbs and the 2014 torque is 100 lbs . The fact that the Gen 1 has 15 inch rims and the Gen 2 has 16 inch rims must have something to do with the difference in the spec. The most important thing is to use a Torque Wrench and re tighten the wheels a couple of times after changing a wheel.

Mustang nice to see you are well. It is in Vermont also

Big brother is in every body's business these days . If the tax is on HP only then you will not notice much of a difference. They should be able to maintain the torque and feel and still limit the Hp at the top. Take a test ride and make sure you like it. You seem to use your vehicles up completely so this is a long term purchase.

This sounds like a cool rig. Remember the Diesel to gas penalty is 25%. The enjoyment of having 178 Hp will cause a big smile. If the size of the smile is big enough, then the cost will be worth it. Hopefully the inside of the 1.6 is up to the extra Hp. The Transit custom comes as a wagon which would offset the business look to a large degree. Have you Driven this rig yet

You can buy the assembly but it is very expensive the Machine Shop is a better alternative -
help diagnosing vibration/noise from front end
G B L replied to escobar's topic in Powertrain Tech
sounds like a left wheel bearing. When you turn to the left the load is on the right wheel, so the left would quiet down. Jack up the Front end on stands and start it put it in gear and then listen to each wheel you will hear the bad bearing. Let us know what you find. -
Nice . If you have not done the Trans fluid you should consider it .

Good another way is to pull the kick panel and you can get to it with out dropping the glove box

What speed does this happen? if you get to the same speed and put the cruise control on and go up the same incline, what is the shift quality.

Thanks

Sounds promising , They need to put the 2.0 in the TC to match the petrol engine Performance with a 25% fuel mileage increase. The engine looks to be good and if they have the sound and vibration in good control that will boost the appeal. They must be pushing the turbocharger very hard if they are using an Inconel rotor. I wonder what the price bump for this engine will be.

Waiting for pictures , I lowered my rig with 500 Lbs of tools in the back. What will is the size of the tire you will be using on the 19 inch rims?

Towing with a 2014 or newer Ford Transit Connect
G B L replied to TC4K9's's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
Here is a picture, They make several heights and all different sizes depending on the size of the bed -
Yes it is in the right place and the component diagram has only one thing in the harness there behind the slider. If it is the right side of the car there is another module above the impact sensor and that is the fuel pump control module I am not sure what impact moving it would have Cheers

G B L replied to TC4K9's's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
If I was going to get an enclosure for the open trailer , I would use an aluminum pick up cap style because it is much lighter than the fiberglass. It would be much easier to take on and off. -
There are Impact sensors on both sides of the Sliders one in the B pillar and the other about 3to4 inches behind the slider door. I don't think that you would want to move them. There is also a latch that will not let you open the right slider if you have the fuel door open.

Very Nice thanks for posting

Nice , Galvanized trailers are great from the Maintenance point of view . I have one enclosed 4X6 and an Open 5X8 that I tow behind the TC. Very Handy .
