2014 Transit Connect Front Wipers not working
G B L replied to opburg89's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
The scan tool can cycle the wipers , if they work then the problem is not the signal. -
You need a Scan tool and then you can check the wheel speed sensors and find out which one was damaged or unplugged.
-
The normal position for the TC battery is under the hood on the left side behind the air filter.Try there.

2014 Transit Connect Front Wipers not working
G B L replied to opburg89's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
A high level scanner can check the wiper operation . The wiper are probably run by the body control Module -
Is the lift pump on the engine or in the tank? If it is on the engine and the filter is on the suction side then air will get in. Can you tell me where the three hoses go?
-
Have you checked the charging voltage? How old is the battery? Have you checked the water in the battery?
-
Did any one check which solenoid failed? All the solenoids are serviceable behind the plastic cover on the driver’s side? A good scan tool should say which one.

Curt Hitch Class 2 or 3?
G B L replied to davidparker's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
The curt hitch is flush with the bumper and has a 1 inch drop. The ball mount I use has a bout a 4 inch rise to allow the trailer frame to be level. -
Curt Hitch Class 2 or 3?

Go with the 2" receiver that make all the hitches useful with other vehicles . -
Parasitic draw (couldn’t find the proper topic forum)
G B L replied to Ejjr5046's topic in Accessories and Modifications
With All the modules in the TC there is definitely a draw on the battery. The fact that you have to reset the radio and the clock if you disconnect the bat tells you that. If you have a dead or shorted cell will definitely have an effect on the voltage , the sitting voltage will be low and the charging voltage will be hi. -
3500-4000 vs 7 with twice the warranty makes the choice easy. did you ever check the oil level before the trans failed? When the trans failed would it still drive?
-
Does it happen in more than one gear? If you held the Transmission in third what happens.
-
Or they just wrote the TSB from BrentR's Tc. Hope you have nothing to report!

Steering Wheel Extension (longer column)?
G B L replied to Bluega's topic in Accessories and Modifications
That looks like it could work well , It would not mess the car up if you did not like it. -
1500 to 2000 Lbs for me several times a year.
-
If you have the hitch off then you cut the receiver off you have the beam to put back on the car under the bumper cover to support the cover. Or if you found a pro the receiver could be sliced off and the TC would be ready for the Class three hitch in a 1/2 hour.

Good report, but i will pass on the pre filling of the oil filter that is just a good way of getting some contaminants directly into the engine. The center hole of the filter sends oil directly into the engine with out filtration .

There could be a time component. Most service recommendations call for once a year regardless of miliage.

Performance - Uphill and Loaded Down

It works fine! -
Find a shop with a plasma cutter and slice the receiver off the factory hitch and then you can install the Curt Class 3 .

adding a spare wheel carrier to lwb Connect
G B L replied to eggman14's topic in 2015 Ford Transit Connect
The van is set up for the spare so the install should be routine. I bought a van once that did not come with a spare, a hard lesson. Now i always ask!! -
Charging Coach Battery with Alternator
G B L replied to DanDweller's topic in Accessories and Modifications
These work well and will handle the power with no voltage drop. -

I can't speak for the Gen 1 but the Gen2 already has that mounted under the rear. -
Windshield pitting
G B L replied to Neils's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
The front windshield is a three piece safety glass which makes the glass stay in-place when broken. It will not stop a 2X4 or a heavy rock but will provide more protection. The Side windows are tempered glass are designed to crumble on impact . That is why car safety tools have a carbide point hammer function. None of this helps with the deductible!
