  1. Welcome to the 25000 club, mine was half baked at 25000. I am going to get to the fourth flush before Christmas and will see how the Triax fluid has held up.
  2. The converter locks in most of the higher gears. Unless you lock the trans out of 6 speed if the terrain is flat enough the trans will go into 6 and lock the converter. When the Trans is running with the converter locked is does not generate any more heat than a standard gearbox.
  3. Great info. Being old I naturally take more than 5-10 seconds to start to do any thing!
  4. When I have checked mine it is generally at 170 to 180 unless you are pulling hills or have a trailer on then it has approached 190 to 200. I bet your highway speed is higher than mine. The heat comes from the converter being unlocked .
  5. The cooler flow is controlled by a thermostat, so adding an extra cooler will not lower the running temp of the transmission. The best protection for this gear box is regular fluid flushes and checking the fluid level regularly.
  6. Sounds like an adjustment issue, or the shaft coming out of the Transmission is binding and needs to have some lubrication .
  7. There must be a switch on the steering shaft to signal the assist to turn on sounds like it must be sticky when the car sits. is it every time you start the car or just when it sits for a while ?
  8. Make sure the sending unit is bottomed out in the bore if the gap is too large the signal will not be constant. Can you show the picture of the old bearing with the dust shied removed? When you bought the part it stated it was for ABS equipped TC's? The one in the picture I posted says it has a Magnetic encoder seal
  9. You might find a lot of things work just a little better with the new battery. How did the injectors clean up.
  10. I always carry one of these , I have lots of batteries and a 12 volt charger in my truck. Very handy and lasts 6 hours on a charge.
  11. If you watch which way the cable lever pulls it will tell you which way to turn the puck. Rockauto has rotors with improved corrosion protection, check them out and see if you can get them locally . it will help them last better. The rear brakes wear faster on the Gen 2.
  12. The fuel economy has always dropped in the cold weather, the 10 percent ethanol just makes the drop bigger The speed wind resistance effect has always been there, as gas prices go up it becomes how fast for how much?
  13. The major issues with CNG are where to fill if going out of your area..The price for fuel is important because it has less energy than Gasolene . If the equipment is in good shape you should have no issues with how it runs.
  14. The extra expense of the diesel option makes selling enough units problematic for the North American TC market. If the diesel fuel is properly winterized, winter operation is not a problem.
  15. How do they clean the injectors? I know on the multiport injectors they reverse flush them, are the DI injectors different?
  16. Great! Sometimes no action is the right plan.
  17. Small diesel engine and not in a hurry. The perfect combo for great mileage.
  18. On every level how the car looks and makes you feel is the most important thing for a large percentage of the worlds automotive customer!
  19. \When you add snow and Ice and Mud to the mix it changes the engineering requirements. How many miles? The propane being under pressure would definitely point out any leaks in the system. What gets serviced in the injectors? Those look like good tires, Let us know how they ride and hold up.
  20. The speed and wind drag has always been the most important factor in fuel mileage . It is nice to see that the physics has not changed even if the world seems to have come off the rails.
