  2. The TC is pretty loud when the fan is 0n 3 or 4 even with out a mouse nest!
  3. The oil passages thing is not the reason. If it was all the cars around here would be seized up after the first -25 day. The mufti-grade oil was really important before the wide spread use of synthetic based oil . The cold weather start up performance of synthetic oil is much better . The oil viscosity required is modified by the duty cycle , applied load . The oil viscosity for the marine engine derivative of a car or truck engine is higher due to the load and the length of time the load is applied.

  5. If the car starts fast then the batteries seem to last along time. If you have a drain say a charger that recharges drill batteries or runs a refrigerator then the shrinking capacity becomes apparent. Four to seven years is all that i get.
  6. They are not mandatory here but if you don't have good tires we do not have to feel bad passing you in the ditch!
  7. Hopefully you are not the first person. It sounds like a software issue. You will need to keep on the dealer to get a resolution. Good luck and keep us posted.
  8. That is good to here. It seems that the Propane may require more maintenance than gas alone,which is a draw back. Hopefully the cost savings make the extra maintenance worth it.
  9. I am using a 5w-20 full synthetic at the moment but could go to 5w-30. The synthetic stays fluid at the low temp. The thin oil is for the fuel mileage ratings. You might need it if it went to -40 or lower. At -40 I have another plan Stay home by the fire!!
  10. If after the Jump it is worse, check the battery connections something could be loose. The battery is definitely suspect. As a side note . every once and a while mine just decides to kill the battery. New battery , old battery does not matter . No charging issues , No codes, no clues, just random. My defence is a well charged booster pak and several well worn swear words at the ready.

  12. Mine also. The only change I make is to allow a warm up to make sure all the brittle plastic parts on both the engine and Transmission are happy.
  13. Put a good booster pak on it , Mine has had the battery get discharged for no apparent reason. It is easy to jump the starter to test if needed. Keep us posted
  14. If you have the opportunity drive both. That will tell you what you want to know. If you do please report I am excited to know a real world comparison of the performance difference. At one point I will test drive a 2019 just to see . As I have made the last payment on the 2014 last month I am going to take a Rest from the payment race.
  15. If the coolant stays at the normal level with out loss then there is no overheating.
  16. Is it loosing coolant? You can test for combustion gasses in the coolant with a tester. If it is not loosing coolant then you could have a thermostat issue. If there is no heat then the coolant is low, top it off and see how long it takes to get low again
  17. If you are looking at a TC that is still in the 3 -36000 or the 5-60000 Power train warranty then a Car Fax would help. You can go on line and check to see what the service recalls for the Year TC are and The carfax will tell you if they are done. I always want to see the car up on a lift because the underside will tell you lots about the abuse that the TC has had. A good honest independent with a scanner can do a good inspection .
  18. Nice report. The take away from my experience based on my fluid changes is that this gear box works hard and 25000 miles is about all you want the fluid to go.
  19. 89000+ on the 2014 LWB I have, no major issues yet.Tran has had no issues yet, it gets flushed every 25000. The worst thing is checking the fluid level in the trans. The northeast winters are hard on the brakes. Pulls a properly sized trailer nicely.
  20. The wipers are controled by the Body Control Module, I won't have access to my Manuel till the week end . Hopefully someone Else will chime in.
  21. I think you have a point. It could have something to do with making it the same as blinking the lights on the other lever.
  22. I can see none of you folks live in a dirt road in Vermont, My TC has 2 for the front and one on each rear door. you pull the wiper lever toward you for the front and push it for the rear. I use lots of Rain-x
