New VW Caddy, the basis for the next Transit Connect
G B L replied to mrtn's topic in Lounge Transit Connect
That does not make me happy, a cross breed between VW and Ford . Could be a mess. The specs for the one for over here will be interesting . Hey Maybe an Air Cooled Boxer engine! -
Great Idea Less Choice so the Rest of the Manufactures can take its easy and let the products become not as good!

Nice we will probably not see it over here any time soon!

You need a driver and then you can be in the back with your ear in the right place and not trying to avoid hitting a tree. I am waiting for the results of the search.

Good info. The safety cable would hit the steel rim if it were to hit anything. Sounds like you need to be in back with your ear to the floor. Keep us posted on your test ride.

Is the TC a 5 or 7 passenger ? Taken it out for a ride with all the seats folded. on the Spare could the safety cable be hitting the tire when it is up tight against the Car?
-
The Plot thickens sounds like a run with the tailgate ajar and secured is next. You need to check the two removable panels on on either side in the back. the left one has the jack some one could have put something in there. Is the spare tire carried under the car in the normal position? There is a second cable that is there for added safety so it has slack when the tire is up. Keep us posted.

If you mount a GPS in the right place the speedo problem will be eliminated and as an added bonus the tire size will no longer be an issue.

Rear brake drum recall
G B L replied to PetrosA's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
If the dealer does it they could use the same inferior shoes, Just replacing the shoes if every thing else is good should not be a lot of money. -
Rear brake drum recall
G B L replied to PetrosA's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
Ok it could be the brake lining material . If you knew the brand of the shoes you could find a different brand. Another Idea is to go to support at a brake lining manufacture and see if they have run into your issue. keep us in the loop, can't wait for the answer. -
If the tire size is the same and you have the proper load range it does not matter, the tires will work.

Rear brake drum recall
G B L replied to PetrosA's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
You need to pull the drums and check what is really going on. It could be the TSB, but it could also be the brakes are warn out. -
Nice , I am not sure that I will see them any time soon on my route.

The fact that you are in the south will limit your snow exposure but if you find your self in Muddy conditions the traction control will still get in the way!
