Excited owner of new to me 2014 Transit Connect XLT (SWB) wagon
G B L replied to Guitars4cancer's topic in Welcome!
That was the reason that I went with the 215/60/16. The performance difference for the 2.5 and the 1.6 is very small but the ride improvement is the real bonus. -
The fact that the blower intake is on the floor under a seat makes the ingestion of Debris a real possibility.

Right Don that's the load range you need. The 215/60/16 I put on my TC were a 99H load range so tires with an adequate load rating are available. -
The fact that It sat for 10 days and now has a problem says bad electrical connection to the ECU, check the grounds and fuses.

You might take the Rear air filter and check for debris in the fan this could be the cause of the motor problems. The two blower are completely different parts and the parts diagram at Fordparts.com should provide a number and diagram. The factory manual from the site that PhotoAl references is a very good value.

The only answer is to only take the Miata on very long trips on sunny days that will maximize the fun and limit the hip pain!!

Nice looking wheels. If you get the wrong State Trooper here the Proud rear wheels could be an issue.
-
If you have the right equipment dealing with the snow is just another thing. Not having to worry about a wildfire or a major drought is a definite plus.

If you have the car for 15-20 years you and the seats age about thew same.

I think that some cars are better than others, but the more snow driving experience you have the better the cars seem to drive.

The Tire psi max is to insure that the tire will perform at the rated load . The placard it there to make sure the supplied tires are not run with too little pressure for the load. The new tires carry the same psi to rated load . The tire will carry the load at the indicated psi.

Thank you for the up date. I think the Transmission control computer adapts the shift patterns automatically. The only priority is the speedometer error is important.
-
I went from 215/55/16 size tire to 215/60/16 size tires. The Ride improved The speedometer error was marginal and the Transmission Shift quality and performance are unchanged. jrm233 I want a full up date on the driving impressions . Please keep track of the possible Scrub issues. I am very happy with the changes I made to My TC

The Auto headlights should not drain the battery too much as the lights will go off if the ignition is switched off. I have one vehicle with auto head lights, one with day time running lights , and the TC with out either of those. I think that you will adjust to the lights and operations. As for the Needing a boost to get started I have had random times when the TC has decided that it might be nice if I used my booster pack and for no apparent reason has a discharged battery. I Keep a booster pack at the ready. It must be the many decades of driving old vehicles.

Rear Heating Problems, 2014 Transit Connect LWB Titanium
G B L replied to mrgone's topic in Climate Control
The rear heater on the wagon has a booster heater that raises the temp of the Air supplied under the Left Front seat by the front air controller. It works best on cold days it the air is mostly sent to the floor in the front with the temp control on both the front and rear heaters on high. The Vents behind the second seat for the third row are disabled in the heading mode. The Rear unit has a separate evaporator for the Air conditioner. Ford was more interested in the Rear cooling than the heating. There is a high output booster heater that is an option mostly for the Taxi version. If I knew what I know now and made a special order TC I would option that in. With the controls set the way I outlined the Rear heat is completely adequate. -

If you ever have to remove the plate , use an electric heat gun it will make the adhesive weaken and allow for easy removal.
