You can use either wire with constant power. Make sure you make nice connections so your van won't burn down because of a short.

Yes, there is full time power to the screen from the map light (even when the map light is off) but the screen stays off. The screen only turns on when there is power from the map light AND the reverse gear is selected turning on the camera, sending video feed. So the LCD is not draining your battery when these two rules are not met simultaneously (POWER + VIDEO). You can use a multimeter to check which lamp contact has power.

I installed my LCD to the overhead shelf and ran the power from the map light assy. The screen turns on when the reverse gear is selected and the camera start sending the picture. It's off when there's no feed. You connect the camera to the reverse light wire. The instructions should be in the box.

I discovered this in my 2006 TC with round perforation, so yes. The best possible tissue for it is the hand dryer paper you pull from the center. Cut the roll in half so it fits on the shelf upright and you’re good to go.

Should be this one known issue - corrosion in charging cables. Check the battery terminals and the extra grounding cables between the terminals, body, engine and the alternator. Mine snapped mid drive because the battery was not fastened well and had moved yanking the cable all day, the engine cut out with a bang and also showed two red idiot lights. Reattached the cable with jump leads and got home.

I have an actual Euro TC with US size license plate and there were no other holes prior to mounting that so it's definitely not normal.

Do you have another key? The immobilizer coil in the barrel is known to cause issues.

The little holes are most likely car alarm microwave radars. I have had them on all my cars as add-on (usually on A-pillar). Definitely not phone microphones. I too have them on the shelf but my microphone is on the head unit.

Me neither but having seen moisture building up behind fixed panels in cars I can’t get the image out of my head. I have no idea what to do. Farm boy logic says I would drill holes in the bottom and near roof for convection to do the job but it may have the opposite effect. I talked to the contractors building my house, they say that a tight insulation prevents condensation buildup. Again, I have no idea but I would love to hear from anyone competent for the time I (possibly) decommission and start building mine (my 2012 wagon).

Have you thought about venting the wall panels somehow to prevent condensation and the subsequent black mold?

I was just at the customer a couple of days ago servicing a printer and the regular “guy chit chat” came down to complaining about stiff hips and too low seat position for long drives. How did that happen? Damn.

Sorry, OLDSCHOLFOOL, about the wording mistakes. English is my fourth language and I slip every now and then. If the meters are only used for something like 1% of parking then maintaining the system is not viable. You don't need a smartphone for parking, it also works over a text message by sending your car number and the parking area code (city, central, private parking lots each have their own code) to the number 1902 and cancel by calling 1903. That's how it was originally designed in y 2000 and it still works. Using the smartphone app just adds convenience features like GPS detection of the area and saving your vehicles for quick pick. As for welcome, tourist areas are equipped with pay stations in visible range and English instructions for using the SMS-based system. Does anyone know anyone driving a car and traveling who doesn't own a mobile phone of any sort?

That’s the curious case, had the first car for 18 years/150K miles before sending it to the wrecker. Luckily I had two identical ones, the second one is still going strong.
