  1. For small engines in hilly areas or in town the CVT would be the best solution.
  2. I cared to play with Fuelly for the first thousand miles, double checked the calculations, filled up at the same pump and every single gas fill-up was displayed precisely on the trip computer. So, for me it's precise enough to trust it completely. The same with all cars I have owned. Only one Civic displayed exactly half a liter less than the actual consumption. Absolute half a liter, not a fraction of consumption.
  3. Oh, this is my favorite part. I've always changed at 9600 miles, quality oil (big manufacturers) only and never burnt a drop even at 180K miles. The cherry syrup looking Castrol that Ford recommends, currently in my Ecoboost, looks brand new at 9600.
  4. How do you cope with the depressive results of the searches? Or do the successful ones balance it out. I can't imagine.
  5. There's a trailer module in the back and the transmission shift map should be self-adaptive. The ECU knows the trailer is hooked up. I don't see any heavy duty coolers in mine, looks standard.
  6. Fifty has uncorked a decent bottle of something. Mark my words.
  7. Did you figure out hod the gasket managed to fail on you? Just age, quality or ground contact?
  8. Can you use alternatives in modern transmissions?
  9. That's a wasteful way of small package delivery. Our house neighbours have built this: http://www.businessinsider.com/doordash-delivery-robots-starship-technologies-2017-3/
  10. I would change spark plugs first. It may just be one missing cylinder causing all this. My bike got new plugs last autumn and in spring one (V2) cylinder failed to fire at all, sounded like a bag of rocks in a bucket. These things break prematurely and luckily cost next to nothing. The only tricky part is getting the new one in without screwing up the thread.
  11. If you're having the same exact symptoms then they didn't fix the cause, just the symptoms.
  12. Here's a worry for a young man who's into crazy girlfriends. Or just married ones.
  13. And then there are purists who have a modern system (Bluetooth, USB, digital receiver) built in their ancient radios with no visible difference. I like that.
  14. Aftermarket radios are usually better equipped than OEM. So search for in-dash receivers. You'll probably need a 2-DIN (or 1-DIN if you opt for the cheaper ones) adapter plate in place of your original one. You can also have a reverse camera if you get one with a large LCD. 16. I have only used a few tankfuls (LPG mostly) so I have no good statistics but quite right, the needle drops pretty much in the first stretch of driving if I don't go crazy with multiple restarts. Never had fuel fumes in the cabin tho.
