light in rear door
mrtn replied to dropit69's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
Originally it's the third brake light but as it's slightly off center I guess it's not legal in the US so Ford mounted a rooftop brake light for than and blocked the hole with a blank piece. -
Those freehand perspective drawings are damn good.

Same spot. I contemplated relocating it but not because of reception issues, I wanted to have the whole "forehead" for advertising space. I mostly listen to online streaming sources so radio is rather non-relevant for me. The antenna base has like a depressed spot for it, so even if you plug the bolt hole when relocating you'll have a visible, egg-shaped placeholder there.

Feel free to be annoyed. You really picked up where T0astervan left off. Guess every forum needs one.

My sister's BMW X1 has a toggle joystick for a shifter. Took me a moment to get it in gear staring at the display for "D" to appear, operates like a sequential box shifter. In any other car, so far, I hadn't even looked at any of the controls.

Did you check the back of your radio for antenna connection? The antenna should be good enough, never had any reception problems. The first and easiest thing is to try another antenna (just try to top part without the base first). Any off the shelf antenna with a 5 or 6 mm (don't recall, seems to be standard) thread should fit. Ask for recommendations from specialists. I broke mine off some time and replaced it with the base. Made a 2" H-shaped incision in the headliner, pushed the "flaps" in and unbolted the antenna. Make sure to use a magnetic wrench bit so the bolt won't fall behind the insulation. Not too hard to get it out if it does tho. Hook or tie the antenna cable before removing the bolt completely so you wan't have to fish it if it moves around or falls in some crack. You can close the H-shaped incision afterwars and not even notice it's there.

What's the gridlock period in LA? Whenever I drive to and from Germany I need to plan the drive so I hit east of Warszawa (Poland) in the middle of the night. Morning and evening means bumper-to-bumper with semi trucks with no air to breathe for dozens of miles. -
Actually, the TC can handle some serious cargo as well. I have put at least a metric ton in my Mk1 van and it was fine. I'm yet to overload my new one

My cargo TC with a rigid bulkhead has a lousy A/C.

I also got a rock in my face from an oncoming gravel truck, saw it coming, the whole thing took 0.3 seconds. Exactly the same spot,HUGE bang, almost got a heart attack. Just a tiny chip in the glass. -

I wash my radiator with a a tar solvent and a pressure washer every time I use it. Keeps it really clean. -
I have used a website which is like a broker for scrapyards, I fill in my car make, model, year and the required part. They will make a query to all their partners and I will get and answer right away. It's a free service. If you don't have such a service in your area then it's better to give them a call or visit their websites, usually they list all cars the have available as parts.

My barn doors have been tight, no leaks. -
Only a pair in the back. The front row is essentially like in any standard passenger car.

Try resizing the image, 1024 pixels wide is good enough and is much smaller in file size. Any resize app works, or do it online, just a random service http://www.picresize.com/ -
I doubt they changed anything since the last facelift (the whole US run of Mk1).
