  1. I don't know, I'm just following your discoveries.
  2. Is this for the old shape? Weird that it would break. I climbed on mine twice a day for a decade and it never failed.
  3. Found a warning on Forscan site that some ELM327 clones are not manufactured to specs and miss some features. Read up. Regarding acceleration: no, as the butterfly does not move and there’s no extra oxygen available the car cannot accelerate. The injectors may squirt some extra fuel for a split second but it has no effect as the fuel mixture is way off. One thing to analyze as well.
  4. I guess ELM327 + Forscan is the tool of choice usually.
  5. I thought the TPS is integrated in the accel pedal itself as it is in the diesel models in Europe. It's known to fail occasionally.
  6. Throttle position sensor would not throw an error code as any reading within the accepted range is good. It may not be good in relation to real life condition but mathematically it’s sound.
  7. I have seen this happen with a bad throttle position sensor/wiring/connection. The computer gets a reading of a pedal fully depressed and reacts by kicking down two or more gears. Then self correcting again. You can search for Focus codes as the Connects have the same drivetrain.
  8. Oh yes, The Butt-O-Meter (tm) is the precisest of instruments.
  9. I have a similar Thule roof box and I cannot find any use for it. I am keeping it outside, perhaps someone else needs it more than I do.
  10. Any maintenance free complicated mechanical device operating under great stress is oxymoron.
  11. Definitely go to service. They will also change the fluid on their own expense when replacing the seal. They can't possibly charge you for warranty work.
  12. EU requires aux tail lights and number plate holder for the bike rack which are then plugged into the trailer socket so it can be solved in this way. Just buy a pair of generic trailer lights and a plug with a cable and you’re good. Extra safety in case of something blocking your lights as well.
  13. Never forget: https://youtu.be/537FDgzGv2A
  14. These are available all over Europe. I have a 3-seater too. It requires a middle seat belt (bolted to the rigid bulkhead). Note that the bench seat is not as comfortable as the bucket seats due to thinner padding, there are flip-up mechanisms under the seats.
  15. Four fullsize Americans? Nope. Look at something at least double the engine size.

    Oil

The Ecoboost is not aggressive on oil at all. My Castrol is still beautiful cherry syrup red 7000 miles in.

    Oil

The factory recommended oil change interval over here (moderate climate with temps from -20F to +85F) is 20,000 km (12,430 miles). I do it at 15K because I love overdoing it. So your maintenance minder was probably about to signal any day.
  18. Probably the Spaniards. "While you're at it, program the winter stability control as well." "LOL, wat".
