  1. You can always run a wire from the overhead light.
  2. You can always have any tractor you like (or can afford). This looks awesome tho: They're functional, if you don't shower.
  3. Oh, that’s great. This should also work on the tackiness of the front vinyl carpet then.
  4. hmm, mine is not fixed by anything really.
  5. There’s a thread about a 1.6 Ecoboost manual swap in this forum. Look it up, perhaps there’s some useful info there.
  6. They reflashed my instrument cluster hoping to repair the occasional "Service beltminder" issue and I now have two trip computers instead of one. I hoped it would also get a permanent temperature display on the top row like I have seen in other machines but no. Nothing else changed.
  7. Word. Cut-solder-heatshrink is King.
  8. Paul Leepu Hayes in facebook is probably your best bet. Can’t recall the website URL.
  9. Always have. There’s this point of no return with desireable cars - they’ll just come with a tow truck and take it no matter what technology you’ve protected it with. I do have a steering wheel lock on my old Toyota, but that’s because it’s a period piece with matching accessories.
  10. Whoa, didn’t know this was used after the nineties.
  11. Yes, it’s the same shape as the spare tire and you are correct, this is the worst place to have any electronics located. I would not install LPG if I had to do it again on this particular vehicle as the fuel saving is not that noticeable. Perhaps 30% on the highway and 40% in the city. Good to know they’ll replace the trans fluid. About time.
  12. Yup, it has more immediate torque available. I didn’t want to push it too hard as it only had 3K on the odometer but yes. I don’t know it it was the old type 2.2 litre diesel or the new 2.0 one.
  13. Correct. But it's not much smaller than the smallest full-size Transit at all. Just a different shape, more compact. The diesel has some grunt tho. Much more than my Ecoboost. Would not keep up in acceleration.
  14. An update: Had injectors replaced by the LPG shop under warranty, there was one leaking. Also the LPG system threw errors and turned off by itself so a power board on the tank was replaced, water had gotten in somehow and corroded contacts, losing power. Today the car was in 60K (km) service at 48K (I do oil changes before the maintenance minder starts yelling). Oil change, brake fluid change. They discovered a small weep at the axle seal which will be replaced under warranty. I wonder if they need to change the transmission fluid as well. Also there was a cooling system recall to be performed. Risk of fire. Also: I had noticed some variance in fuel gauge reading after filling up so I asked them to check it. Apparently the tank sensor is faulty. Other than that: Transit Custom is yuck.
  15. Turned out the Mondeo was not available for a loaner so I got the Transit Custom diesel M/T. I would shoot myself if I had to drive it daily. It's tall like a phone booth, rock hard suspension and clearly not meant for anyone over 6 feet. The pedals are too high (close to the seat) even with the driver seat raised to the highest position but then I can't see out of the window.
  16. This is not specifically for this sub model but a general blueprint: First put a double layer of sound insulation mat on the jack compartment walls so it wouldn’t rattle along. This includes plastic interior panels around the area. Use bits of semi hard closed cell foam to ensure there’s no contact between body and sub parts. Stick them everywhere you would expect any rattle to be an issue. Do not force anything tho, especially between the sub and outer sheet metal, it will bulge if you do. Just a slight compression. Use textile based tape on cabling.
  17. Oh, you don't get the e-NV200? Disregard my suggestion. Oops.
  18. If electric is your thing then I would get an NV200 EV (106 miles on NEDC) and be done with it. It's an actual brand product with an actual warranty and support structure.
  19. My 2012 wagon’s sliding door windows are fixed and the rear quarter windows crack open from the back.
  20. There’s a sliding door power window in the wagon? I thought it’s only for the locks.
  21. It just bolted to the rail supports. Shouldn’t be too difficult. Check the cabling first.
  22. Yeah, I know. But I also promised to test drive the new diesel. I’ll look into it. I’m taking my TC to service on 26th and I’m getting a loaner for the day, but it’ll be a 2.0 Mondeo, not the TC, unfortunately.
  23. Nope, they didn’t have automatic so I didnt even bother.
