  1. Correct. But it's not much smaller than the smallest full-size Transit at all. Just a different shape, more compact. The diesel has some grunt tho. Much more than my Ecoboost. Would not keep up in acceleration.
  2. An update: Had injectors replaced by the LPG shop under warranty, there was one leaking. Also the LPG system threw errors and turned off by itself so a power board on the tank was replaced, water had gotten in somehow and corroded contacts, losing power. Today the car was in 60K (km) service at 48K (I do oil changes before the maintenance minder starts yelling). Oil change, brake fluid change. They discovered a small weep at the axle seal which will be replaced under warranty. I wonder if they need to change the transmission fluid as well. Also there was a cooling system recall to be performed. Risk of fire. Also: I had noticed some variance in fuel gauge reading after filling up so I asked them to check it. Apparently the tank sensor is faulty. Other than that: Transit Custom is yuck.
  3. Turned out the Mondeo was not available for a loaner so I got the Transit Custom diesel M/T. I would shoot myself if I had to drive it daily. It's tall like a phone booth, rock hard suspension and clearly not meant for anyone over 6 feet. The pedals are too high (close to the seat) even with the driver seat raised to the highest position but then I can't see out of the window.
  4. This is not specifically for this sub model but a general blueprint: First put a double layer of sound insulation mat on the jack compartment walls so it wouldn’t rattle along. This includes plastic interior panels around the area. Use bits of semi hard closed cell foam to ensure there’s no contact between body and sub parts. Stick them everywhere you would expect any rattle to be an issue. Do not force anything tho, especially between the sub and outer sheet metal, it will bulge if you do. Just a slight compression. Use textile based tape on cabling.
  5. Oh, you don't get the e-NV200? Disregard my suggestion. Oops.
  6. If electric is your thing then I would get an NV200 EV (106 miles on NEDC) and be done with it. It's an actual brand product with an actual warranty and support structure.
  7. My 2012 wagon’s sliding door windows are fixed and the rear quarter windows crack open from the back.
  8. There’s a sliding door power window in the wagon? I thought it’s only for the locks.
  9. It just bolted to the rail supports. Shouldn’t be too difficult. Check the cabling first.
  10. Yeah, I know. But I also promised to test drive the new diesel. I’ll look into it. I’m taking my TC to service on 26th and I’m getting a loaner for the day, but it’ll be a 2.0 Mondeo, not the TC, unfortunately.
  11. Nope, they didn’t have automatic so I didnt even bother.
  12. 6MT or 6-speed PowerShift dual clutch automatic. 2019 will see new 8-10 speed autos.
  13. IF this is the 1.5 EURO6 emission engine we have in Europe then it's been market for a couple of years already and there really haven't been any serious complaints over it, unlike the 1.6 diesel.
  14. Insane mileage :O I have the same cluster and CC indicator is also there.
  15. Because you would not know if there's moisture behind it and if positive then there's no way for the moisture to evaporate/drain. Enter: rust.
  16. We’ll probably have some breakthrough battery tech in a couple of years which rids us of the environmental hit of today’s scale.
  17. Hybrid is a bit of an economical gimmick anyway. It's more like a feelgood product for people wanting to make a change and support the development of hybrid/electric technology. Electric is already plenty for city folk. In colder climates I see hybrids idling on gasoline all day because you can't turn the engine off because of heating needs. Diesel is great for long distance commuting, not so great for city environment.
  18. There are plenty of top notch (pun not intended) conversions here, spend some hours browsing. You can get sliding side windows from taxi scrapyards.
  19. Caddy is considered better than Connect, usually. The new ones look quite nice as well. The VW plastic is not my thing tho, or the seating position. You say 2012 onwards? Or do you mean 2014 onwards (the new shape)? The first generation was in production from 2002 to 2013 with two facelifts (bar grille in 2007 and the surprised bunny bumper plus new dashboard in 2010). 1.5 diesel and 1.0 Ecoboost petrol are considered to be the best engines for the new shape in Europe. 1.6 Ecoboost is quite rare as many markets did not introduce it at all, including the UK.
  20. You shouldn't spray PU foam anywhere in the car, ever. Old school rust proofing following a good clean and drying helps with road noise. Something thick and heavy, tar like substance.
  21. You're less likely to find an answer here as we're here for the Connect only.
  22. Sure, it's half way around the world tho: http://infoauto.ee/ It was the same guy who told me they performed shift actuator fork diagnostics and it shifts fine, the last time I was there. So I told him there are no shift actuator forks in 6F35 (facepalm).
  23. Simple deduction would indicate the dealer being a dummy.
  24. I was at the dealer today to schedule my third service (46Mm in) and asked when would they do the transmission fluid change. “It’s a lifetime fluid, changing it might make it worse.” You dummy.
