  1. Just like mine. No windows in the back and no rear view mirror, obviously.
  2. Of course I did. I have kept a bigger gap since that event and quit messing with random electronics during driving.
  3. I had that holder, got it at MacDonald's drive in. It was the only cup holder in that car.
  4. You might not need a new latch. Mine had a problem of not closing sometimes and the reason was a misadjusted cable. The bullet end of the cable was a bit off center and when popping in the wrong side of the latch it did not allow it to lock. The dealer adjusted it and it's worked fine since.
  5. It's probably nothing as there are many pickup conversions with most of the back cut away with no reports of lost rigidity. Just curious.
  6. Well, I once grabbed a my tablet pc from the passenger seat looking away for a split second. During that time a neurotic lady slammed her brakes in front of me because of a blinking green (it blinks twice to indicate the following yellow and red over here so people farther away know to slow down) so I crashed my TC in her Benz. She did say afterwards that she shouldn't have braked but it was too late. Lesson learned for me, and her.
  7. Has he commented on the structural rigidity or the loss of it due to the cut roof?
  8. They have reached a cult following by today. Prices are hiking up and the limited Cosworth models are selling at outrageous prices: http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1987-ford-sierra-rs500-cosworth Sold for £112,500
  9. Yeah, I remember this one (which you obviously have not seen ever):
  10. No, it's missing the panoramic roof and full leather (it has combined leather and Alcantara) but it has rain sensing wipers and lane departure control with servo steering. It can go for miles without intervention following the speed of the car in front and adjusts for merging traffic. It rattles the seatbelt and beeps for me to grab the steering wheel tho.
  11. Nope. The deer is not standing in front of the car. It's running, legs up from the ground. Remember this:
  12. Oh, I don’t think the diesel model was affected. 1.6 petrol only (including the Focus, Fiesta, etc).
  13. Is it the 1.6 or 2.5? Make sure you have the cooling system recall done if it's the 1.6.
  14. Works perfect in my 2009 Toyota but craps the bed in a '14 CR-V every time. Have to turn it off and on again every once in a while.
  15. People have different abilities. 100% restrictive rules are counterproductive and will not work anyway. You should be able to determine what's good for you. I'm pretty sure an air traffic controller will do just fine answering a phone call on Bluetooth while some person who's not capable of chewing a gum while taking a bath due to slow cranking brain should just wait till he/she's stopped. But I'm all for enforcing handsfree setup in car. Now that wireless carplay systems are becoming more available you can just have the car automatically disable your phone's advanced features and provide you with phone calls and navigation on car display.
  16. Deer are higher up, landing on the hood and windshield. We have HUGE moose over here (with more than half of the country covered by forest), 7 feet high. These will effectively kill everyone in the car if hit at highway speed.

  18. Yes, as there was no structural deformation whatsoever. Airbags don't deploy unless it's absolutely necessary. The boar(s) ran on the road from my right, I instinctively turned left to avoid them and managed to hit the last one. If I had kept my direction I would have missed it. The boar tumbled towards 11 o'clock for 20 feet and ended up in the ditch. Then got up and split.
  19. Mk1 Connect is structurally solid. I hit a wild boar on the highway with no other damage than a bent plate. The plate was the focus point so the whole energy was absorbed by the bumper. A hit like that would have reached the radiator on any standard passenger car.
  20. I have a chain and a head gasket for my first car (from 1990), still. I think I can find a pair of lower control arm joints but I might have thrown them away.
  21. Yes, it was different. I did. That was the best I could afford new back then. Note that this was the standalone Euro version which had nothing to do with Mazda 323. It was a 100% Ford product and it had upscale interior, excellent materials and nice interior design. It was identical to this apart from color and dark interior.
  22. Today you get an option of ordering a car to your own tase. I waited for months for my first new car (1996 Escort CLX 3-door) because I wanted it in Augergine Metallic paint. Noone in their right mind orders this in stock.
  23. I had the exact same damage to mine, identical. Was fixed by the insurance co in a few days.
