That's what I like to see on forums. Modifications. Only problem there is that everyone's drive style and real world conditions will be different. But still fun to look at what other people are doing. Most informative when someone posts what didn't work. Especially if someone were to post "exclusively used XXXX oil and filter, then engine sludge built up and seized.". But I doubt that could happen unless whatever they did was way different than OEM recommendations . Let's suppose that you have a brother in law who only uses Mobil1. His car gets an oil change every 3 months. It's only driven on weekends to go shopping. About 1,000 miles in 3 months. Can you take the drained oil from his car, use it in your car, and call it Mobil2? For the sake of argument, it's the same car, so you reused his filters too. Not that I ever put my used motor oil into my mother in law's Honda.

NYC has survived other events. This will change lifestyles. I can't even imagine what it is like to be in such a crowded place, with a virus in the air. How can people take the subways?

That could solve a lot of other issues also. We would be in a different mindset. In order to preserve human life, we exchange our way of life. Necessary items would be rationed and distributed by soldiers, to prevent panic buying and hoarding. All movements will be restricted by way of checkpoints and road closures. Civil Rights would not apply as soldiers take our DNA and test every person door to door - as this would be "reasonable search & seizure". We will all be implanted with a chip like dogs at the pound. A rebel subculture of Transit Connect owners would flee for the hills, where they establish pockets of resistance to government tyranny and oppression. They camp in their little vans, stage raids on Costco for toilet paper, and say things like, "better to have a fever, standing up on my own 2 feet, than live on my knees, at the feet of President AOC"

It's a joke. -
After the rain, my front doors get water and it drains out of the bottom. I'm not sure, but the sliding doors probably get water too.

Finally put a ladder/cargo rack on
Double Nickels replied to jrm223's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
It looks like you can order another set, install them in the middle holes, and then you can do a little more. It may support and distribute more weight. I don't know. It's a ladder rack. Not a lumber rack. Fiberglass and aluminum ladders are more rigid than sheets of wood and wallboard. I have never wanted to carry 4X8 sheets on the roof that way. Strapping it safely is a consideration. So is weight that high up. You should be okay if you don't overload it. But you probably have some experience and know what you are doing. -

Is it soundproof? If some was in the back of the van, screaming, would the cops be able to hear? -
Can you imagine the engineering involved?

This is one of the best mods so far. Very creative.

I bought the wagon because it seats 7. And seats 7 with a little more legroom, headroom, and shoulder space when compared to some of the crossover SUV cars. The 2nd row has 3 full size seats, as compared to a seat belt over a folded up armrest. The big sliding doors are easier to get in and out, compared traditional 2nd row doors in little crossover SUV cars. I could be wrong, but insurance may be a little less.

Transit Connect Tailgate Tents
Double Nickels replied to dellk357's topic in Transit Connect Member Custom Builds
I think a couple of extendable shower rods is all that you will need to hang a poncho or tarp. A military spec surplus poncho should fit fine with 2 shower rods and zip ties. -

Ozark Trail is a Walmart brand. Anyone selling it on Amazon is reselling at a markup. -
The transmission control module may be just responding to the accelerator pedal. There's a sensor which sends information to the computer, and maybe that's the issue. The computer thinks that your foot is heavy on the pedal. At freeway speed, my car will downshift 2 gears as RPM soars over 4,000. In my case, I admit that my foot is a little heavy. Is your foot heavy?

2014 Transmission fluid level check/refill.
Double Nickels replied to Johnyguy's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
You could also clear the adaptive learning table, and see what happens. I looked down today, and noticed that at freeway speed, the transmission was in 4th gear and the engine RPM was over 4,000. My ATF was over 200° F. I am thinking of clearing mine, just to see what happens. -

Coolant in the engine has to heat to 185 or 195, before the thermostat opens. Coolant in the degas bottle, which goes to the transmission cooler, is not hot like the temp that your PCM is reading. Coolant temp sensor is usually on top of the engine reading hot radiator fluid before it opens the thermostat and flows to the radiator. PCM reading for transmission temp is inside the transmission at the valve body. I have no idea what the temps are at the heat exchanger, or ATF in the return line. Here are a few screenshots of my drive today. Started in San Francisco, where the Warriors play behind the police station. Went to Menlo Park where Steph Curry lives. Coolant is at temp to open the thermostat just before I got on the freeway. 25 miles down the road, ATF is up to temp. Then I pull over to see that ATF is maintained at operating temp. -

2014 Transmission fluid level check/refill.
Double Nickels replied to Johnyguy's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
I could be entirely wrong. While there is a coolant line which runs from the overflow degas bottle, to the oil-to-water heat exchanger for ATF, then to the heater core. And there are 2 electronically controlled valves to regulate the coolant flow. The sensors monitored as coolant bypass valve may not be the valves which regulate coolant flow to cool the ATF. In some cars there is a coolant bypass hose which allows coolant to flow to the heater core before the thermostat. There may be a valve regulating the bypass hose. In any event, Forscan also has PID for the fan. I set them up and took screenshots for you to look at. I don't know how to interpret the data. But it might help you. -

ATF goes to the cooler bypass valve. It returns to the transmission unless it is hot enough to close the valve. Once at correct temp, ATF goes to the heat exchanger, where there are fins for airflow and coolant carries the heat away. The coolant flow is from the overflow tank to the heater. This flow is regulated by 2 valves which can be monitored with Forscan. All of this is suppose to regulate ATF temp.
