  1. My ex thinks the white van is the stereotypical registered offender car. She felt weird and creepy every time I picked her up. Once, she called, and said, "stop driving around the block in circles, you are scaring the neighbors, just park in the driveway, I am almost ready." Errr. .... I ran late at work, and there's a little traffic. I'm still downtown. That's some other parolee felon circling your block in a kidnapping mobile. If he pulls into your driveway, call 911.
  2. You could be one of the cheerleaders to make everyone feel good about owning a stock which loses money. They also need you to help sell their junk bonds. I have to admit, that with such low pricing, plus corporate welfare, it's hard to resist buying F stock.
  3. Ford needs you at the shareholders meetings
  4. Liability. They recommend 4 jack points and leave it at that. Anything else you do, they are not liable.
  5. I don't think any hitch receiver was engineered to be a lift point. No hitch receiver manufacturer recommends it. Does that mean that it won't work? Clearly, it has been done. But does that make it safe? Some people don't use jackstands. Every vehicle manufacturer specifies a lift point in the owners manual. Some owners manual specify where not to lift. But we see people lifting at the differential, lower control arms, engine/transmission support cross members, bumper.....sometimes nothing bad happens. You should probably know better than to use a jack under the engine or transmission. Sometimes damage occurs. Some people die. Knowing the risk, you make your own choice. Nobody can convince you that it's safer to use the recommended lift point. And you already believe that there's nothing wrong.
  6. "We don't have to wear 1 of those. I'm safe, baby. You can trust me." Not what you are thinking. We were going to the store. She wanted me to wear a face mask.
  7. I need that for when I leave the bar, and can't remember where I parked.
  8. That's what I like to see on forums. Modifications. Only problem there is that everyone's drive style and real world conditions will be different. But still fun to look at what other people are doing. Most informative when someone posts what didn't work. Especially if someone were to post "exclusively used XXXX oil and filter, then engine sludge built up and seized.". But I doubt that could happen unless whatever they did was way different than OEM recommendations . Let's suppose that you have a brother in law who only uses Mobil1. His car gets an oil change every 3 months. It's only driven on weekends to go shopping. About 1,000 miles in 3 months. Can you take the drained oil from his car, use it in your car, and call it Mobil2? For the sake of argument, it's the same car, so you reused his filters too. Not that I ever put my used motor oil into my mother in law's Honda.
  9. NYC has survived other events. This will change lifestyles. I can't even imagine what it is like to be in such a crowded place, with a virus in the air. How can people take the subways?
  10. That could solve a lot of other issues also. We would be in a different mindset. In order to preserve human life, we exchange our way of life. Necessary items would be rationed and distributed by soldiers, to prevent panic buying and hoarding. All movements will be restricted by way of checkpoints and road closures. Civil Rights would not apply as soldiers take our DNA and test every person door to door - as this would be "reasonable search & seizure". We will all be implanted with a chip like dogs at the pound. A rebel subculture of Transit Connect owners would flee for the hills, where they establish pockets of resistance to government tyranny and oppression. They camp in their little vans, stage raids on Costco for toilet paper, and say things like, "better to have a fever, standing up on my own 2 feet, than live on my knees, at the feet of President AOC"
  11. After the rain, my front doors get water and it drains out of the bottom. I'm not sure, but the sliding doors probably get water too.
  12. It looks like you can order another set, install them in the middle holes, and then you can do a little more. It may support and distribute more weight. I don't know. It's a ladder rack. Not a lumber rack. Fiberglass and aluminum ladders are more rigid than sheets of wood and wallboard. I have never wanted to carry 4X8 sheets on the roof that way. Strapping it safely is a consideration. So is weight that high up. You should be okay if you don't overload it. But you probably have some experience and know what you are doing.
  13. Or a random stranger online to diagnose it over the internet.
  14. Is it soundproof? If some was in the back of the van, screaming, would the cops be able to hear?
  15. Can you imagine the engineering involved?
  16. Then there's the problem of your knees hitting the steering wheel.
  17. I bought the wagon because it seats 7. And seats 7 with a little more legroom, headroom, and shoulder space when compared to some of the crossover SUV cars. The 2nd row has 3 full size seats, as compared to a seat belt over a folded up armrest. The big sliding doors are easier to get in and out, compared traditional 2nd row doors in little crossover SUV cars. I could be wrong, but insurance may be a little less.
