My long term highway average is 25.5. It drops in the winter and depending on the load. City Driving could lower it to under 20.

The CNG definitely helps it is a very clean fuel. The other thing that helps is Orange county Ca!

What are the cold start issues you are having? Do you have a 12 volt test light? if you do then if you separate the glow plugs and hook the test light to the positive battery post if the light lights when you touch the glow plug terminal then there is continuity . It won't tell you if the glow plug is shorted.

That sounds promising. The passenger side axel is long and has a hanger bearing so it could raise a racket. Looking forward too the answer

The rear seating uses the foot well under the floor deck. If the only large thing that is going to be transported is the motorcycle. Then the seating added could be set so that the front wheel of the cycle could ride in between the rear seats on a narrow fabticated platform.
-
Not sure what else you haul with your van. If the motorcycle is the only large thing you haul, and the seating would be in all the other time. You could fabricate a center floor that would allow the motorcycle too load easily, leaving room for the seat to go in and leave good room for the passengers legs and feet.

I will join the group on this topic. Ford spent enough time on moving the air and no time on the airflow and fan noise !

The install difficulty will depend on if the mounting reinforcement is already on the vehicle . If not then it is more involved. As for the resale it is less important to me as the end result of most of my vehicles is the scrap yard after long service!

I am with you mrtn, they are getting thin and narrow is better for snow.

Just a holiday greeting. Home from a freight run, 6 degrees here.

I test drove a Gen 1 XLT Passenger model a year and a half before I bought the Gen 2 . Front bucket seats and rear 60-40 bench, has glass in the sliding doors, and the rear doors had glass and wipers. There was no glass in the rear body panels . Living in the Vermont Hills it felt like you needed your foot in the corner all the time. Just got home after a freight run
-
The interior height of the Gen 2 is with in 2 inches of the Gen 1 so you are not giving up much inside .

I use the Autel units as they work with the TPMS tool I have. If they have the right frequency they should work with the TC. The warning light comes on on My TC if the pressure drops below 36 Psi.

I bought these from E-trailer, under $15:00 Nice job on the hitch! Looking forward to the scooter on the TC picture.

Help diagnose intermittent growl/vibration/shudder?
G B L replied to photon53's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
If you want to disable the ABS any wheel sensor will do, once the computer senses that one of the wheels is not reporting in it will disable the system. If the shudder goes away then there is a problem in the ABS. If you have a scan tool with ABS you can read the wheel speed sensors and get that information. -
I am sure that they will find the cause . I am very interested in what they find. I hope that Ford finds the cause and they put in a new transmission and don't waste time with the old one. Keep us posted.

The right left twist is less of an issue than the bending action front to back. The Hitch on your TC will most certainly handle the twist, Box tubing is very strong in that direction. The trailer weight and tongue weight are definitely determined by the load rating, braking capacity and handling traits of the TC.
-
This issue had nothing to do with you. You are just the unlucky guy who happens to own the TC. Is the 3 year 36000 warranty still good or will it be the 5 year 60000 power train be the cover?
-
If the after market hitch structure were mechanically attached to the factory hitch it would definitely handle the load. The only question would the weight cause a drive-ability issue . You would want to add a anti rattle to control the hitch slop .
-
It sounds like something major in the final differential came apart . that would affect all the gears and the park function. How many miles on your rig?

Help diagnose intermittent growl/vibration/shudder?
G B L replied to photon53's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
If you disconnect one of the Abs sensor plugs It wills set a code , but it will disable the Traction control and eliminate the ABS function if the shudder goes away then you know where the problem is . If one of the brake hoses is restricted it could make a caliper hold pressure on a disc. The tell tale on that is one of the front wheel would be much hotter than the other. -
Did this happen when you were returning into your driveway, or was the first symptom after a start up?
-
One possibility would be to put the aftermarket hitch on and Connect it to the factory structure. All of which could be done without removing the factory assembly, and would leave the stock appearance.
-
Wow ! Were you driving when this happened? What kind of noise does it make? How many miles?
