The Trans was out, when the clutch was changed, If the linkage was tightened up in a slightly different position then it could change the shifting. I need to find a picture of the linkage and see. Gen 1 or Gen 2 ?

I Agree totally, however I have a friend who is an electrician and he loves his High top Nissan Van. -
Sounds like the clutch material is causing the input shaft to take a while to coast down.

You have answered the most important requirement for family bliss, all the rest is frosting on the cake! -
Fingers crossed here, My TC just crossed 80000 and seems to run the way it did on day one, it has not been back to the Dealer once.

How many miles are too many...?

Its a 4000.00 difference, a new Trans is 2500 to 3500, With the 2016's you will get some of the bumper to bumper and 2 years atleast on the power train! Do you feel Lucky? -
That configuration is available for the EU I think mrtn has that set up.
-
Well it is good that it was warranty, I wonder what the charge would have been if you had been out of the 60000 power train warranty?
-
Have you tried going into first and then going into Reverse? If the new clutch has different material it could have a slight drag when released. Reverse gear does not have a syncro so the gears need to be stopped or almost stopped to engage.

Never forget The Fiat part in the Chrysler Pacifica ! -
I am looking at the online ford maintenance schedule, are these fairly accurate? Does the TC require more attention the this? One of the selling point for TC was the minimal maintenance requirements. What is your experience ? If you look at the guide is says a 4 speed transmission, Not sure what you are looking at but it does not go with the TC you are looking at. There is a fairly large incidence of the left half shaft leaking at the transmission seal. This transmission shifts well, but it works hard , The Transmission fluid need to be changed regularly.

How did the TC drive, the oil on the bottom could be left over from changing the oil, where was the oil on the Valve cover. If the your mechanic has a good scan tool they should be able to see what the trouble code history is. How does it drive? 60000 miles is 60000 miles no mater how fast it was put on. What does the rest of the car look like? If the discount is big enough and it drive well , it could be a good deal. I would flush the transmission fluid if you do buy it.

Here again is the post I did on changing the Trans Fluid . I have done this 3 times so far. Posted September 25, 2016 Here is the post I did on the Transmission Change. The hardest part of this operation will be getting the TC Jacked up. Should be almost level . Remove the Under body dust shield . Look for the Drain Plug. 11 mm or 7/16 wrench. ] This style funnel will slide down into the Vent plug you just removed Put 3 quarts of fluid in [attacjpg] ] Run the TC for 5 to 10 minutes . Then drain the fluid again. Repeat this 2 more times You have Now used 9 quarts of fluid. Put the Drain plug back in make it snug this time. Add 3 quarts of fluid You have now used 12 quarts. Go under the car and Look for the indicator plug (14 mm wrench) Loosen the plug. Do not remove yet Start the engine with the engine running and the Car in park pull the plug and add fluid into the funnel until it just drips out the Indicator hole Replace plug put the Dust shield on , Pull the funnel and replace the vent cap. Total Fluid 13 Qts. With most of number 13 left There is no filter to change on this operation and the type of fluid is Mercon LV. Have fun! 4 herb, mrtn, T0ASTERvan and 1 other reacted to this

That trailer as pictured is over 1600 Lbs with the load. In side the TC is 500+ Lbs of Tools.
-
With coil on plug there is not much that goes . Just check for corrosion in the coil socket when you change them, i must be getting old but now I think I did use Motorcraft with the best Electrode, but I am not 100 percent sure.
-
The Trans in my Tc shifts and pulls fine . Flushing the trans fluid is routine after the first time. A 1700 Lb trailer pulls fine, the only down side is the fuel mileage did not improve as I had hoped.

Very Nice make sure you have a CO detector. You should consider a rubber spray flap mounted to limit the salt spray from the rear wheel. I am sure that they use plenty of road salt and sand where you live.

I am running a set of these on the TC Tire rack has both the Load 95 or the Load 99 tires. I am running the 99 extra load. They are preforming well so far. Did Ford kill the Connect diesel and the SWB?

If you look at the battery tool industry you are looking at the electric car future. Done correctly it would even allow the battery technology to move forward and be applied to the current production vehicles. -

The fact that there is no pricing for the option shows Ford is not ready. -

The sooner All the car companies get together and pick a standard battery shape and voltage then the electric car revolution will happen. Portable electric tools only took off when the batteries could be removed and charged and a new battery would allow more work.
