  1. Here again is the post I did on changing the Trans Fluid . I have done this 3 times so far. Posted September 25, 2016 Here is the post I did on the Transmission Change. The hardest part of this operation will be getting the TC Jacked up. Should be almost level . Remove the Under body dust shield . Look for the Drain Plug. 11 mm or 7/16 wrench. ] This style funnel will slide down into the Vent plug you just removed Put 3 quarts of fluid in [attacjpg] ] Run the TC for 5 to 10 minutes . Then drain the fluid again. Repeat this 2 more times You have Now used 9 quarts of fluid. Put the Drain plug back in make it snug this time. Add 3 quarts of fluid You have now used 12 quarts. Go under the car and Look for the indicator plug (14 mm wrench) Loosen the plug. Do not remove yet Start the engine with the engine running and the Car in park pull the plug and add fluid into the funnel until it just drips out the Indicator hole Replace plug put the Dust shield on , Pull the funnel and replace the vent cap. Total Fluid 13 Qts. With most of number 13 left There is no filter to change on this operation and the type of fluid is Mercon LV. Have fun! 4 herb, mrtn, T0ASTERvan and 1 other reacted to this
  2. That trailer as pictured is over 1600 Lbs with the load. In side the TC is 500+ Lbs of Tools.
  3. With coil on plug there is not much that goes . Just check for corrosion in the coil socket when you change them, i must be getting old but now I think I did use Motorcraft with the best Electrode, but I am not 100 percent sure.
  4. The Trans in my Tc shifts and pulls fine . Flushing the trans fluid is routine after the first time. A 1700 Lb trailer pulls fine, the only down side is the fuel mileage did not improve as I had hoped.
  5. Very Nice make sure you have a CO detector. You should consider a rubber spray flap mounted to limit the salt spray from the rear wheel. I am sure that they use plenty of road salt and sand where you live.
  6. I am running a set of these on the TC Tire rack has both the Load 95 or the Load 99 tires. I am running the 99 extra load. They are preforming well so far. 7. if you hear the relay, then you are on the right track with the relay or the motor.
  8. If you look at the battery tool industry you are looking at the electric car future. Done correctly it would even allow the battery technology to move forward and be applied to the current production vehicles.
  9. The fact that there is no pricing for the option shows Ford is not ready.
  10. The sooner All the car companies get together and pick a standard battery shape and voltage then the electric car revolution will happen. Portable electric tools only took off when the batteries could be removed and charged and a new battery would allow more work.
  11. The Barn Doors were the thing that made me look at the TC wagon, if that goes away I am out. One other plus is a radio with dedicated buttons that I don't need to look at while driving.
  12. The wheels are at the corners on this rig, if you have any kind of a load the wheels will spin in the rain on a up hill start.
  13. No mater what you do you cannot change the physics, If you have x number of cubic inches at x RPM you get a certain range of HP and torque. The only way to make a big HP improvement of Hp at the same RPM is to supercharge or turbocharge the engine.
  14. Old guys like me use pellets because we don't have the energy for the real fire and we want to eat barbecue often. Marinated chicken tonight!
  15. The fuel is real wood and it does a great Job, each to his or her own!
  16. Yes they do I had salmon and stuffed mushrooms on the Rec-Tec tonight!!
  17. Looks great, We had a great Ham I did on the Pellet smoker, on the 25th.
  18. The only issue will be if the floor has the threaded inserts in the right place. If not then the bolting points would have to be added.
  19. I cut every filter I change to drain and separate the paper from the steel The Wix and Napa are very well made I like the spring better than the stamped steel spring plate . I am surprised at how the Car Quest looks so I might get one of those.
  20. I just shows that there is not much new in the Car business .
  21. Good comparison, thanks. I think that all the filters will do an adequate job if the oil is changed at regular intervals and good oil is used.
  22. i am not sure that any production cars have them in the US any more. It would be available on industrial equipment. I would expect that you could find one as a option on a 4 wheel drive utility vehicle destined for delivery in some dessert countries. The install is harder now that they are trying to funnel the air in from out side the under hood area.
  23. The engineers do a pretty good job sizing the air filter. The only time when the flow is compromised is when the element becomes very restricted . The Oil bath Air Cleaner is more expensive to put on the car. If it is well designed it is easy to service and maintain. It is much better than the oiled gauze K-N style.
