  1. If your TC has any where close to 25000 miles don't wait . The Transmission works the fluid hard.
  2. The ABS Wheel sensors are usually the first thing to give trouble in the ABS Traction control system. Keep us posted.
  3. some where around 2800 -3500 miles. As for the lift at this point on the curve I would have no ambition to do any thing with out it!!
  4. The Traction control off is reset every time you turn the car off. If you want to test it you must start the TC turn the traction control off and take it for a ride .
  5. Synthetic oil and 5500 to 7000 between changes , it goes on the lift to check the trans any way so the oil gets done at the second trans check. I reset the light at the same time.
  6. What is the code number? Do you have access to the live data?
  7. If you go to the information center find the Traction control and switch it off . If it drives ok then there is a problem with the ABS traction control system
  8. I will do the analysis as I pour it into the waste oil tank. The best thing i can do for this gear box is to make sure it has enough fluid and give it a scan for shift issues.
  9. Mine are holding up well for now. When I notice the water getting in I will drill a hole in the bottom to let the water back out!
  10. I have 3 trailers I tow with mine they all run between 1500 and 2000 loaded. Once you get use the engine using the RPM range the TC pulls very nicely. Vermont is not the Rockies , but it has serious hills. If you stay with in the 2000 lbs the braking is completely adequate.
  11. Stop ad go is all about the converter, lots of heat!
  12. Welcome to the 25000 club, mine was half baked at 25000. I am going to get to the fourth flush before Christmas and will see how the Triax fluid has held up.
  13. The converter locks in most of the higher gears. Unless you lock the trans out of 6 speed if the terrain is flat enough the trans will go into 6 and lock the converter. When the Trans is running with the converter locked is does not generate any more heat than a standard gearbox.
  14. Great info. Being old I naturally take more than 5-10 seconds to start to do any thing!
  15. When I have checked mine it is generally at 170 to 180 unless you are pulling hills or have a trailer on then it has approached 190 to 200. I bet your highway speed is higher than mine. The heat comes from the converter being unlocked .
  16. The cooler flow is controlled by a thermostat, so adding an extra cooler will not lower the running temp of the transmission. The best protection for this gear box is regular fluid flushes and checking the fluid level regularly.
  17. Sounds like an adjustment issue, or the shaft coming out of the Transmission is binding and needs to have some lubrication .
  18. There must be a switch on the steering shaft to signal the assist to turn on sounds like it must be sticky when the car sits. is it every time you start the car or just when it sits for a while ?
