  1. The battery compartment on the Gen 2 TC is small The battery is sized and configured for the application .. Most batteries have three numbers that tell the story, cranking amps, This is the cranking power at 32 degrees f, CCA or Cold Cranking Amps, Cranking power at 0 degrees F, and Reserve Capacity, This is the long time draw down capacity of the battery. The third number is the one that tells you how long it will run the electronic cooler. When looking for a replacement battery the larger the reserve capacity the longer it will run accessories. Agm or Absorbed Glass Mat batteries Have more reserve Capacity , cannot spill and are generally higher quality. They come with a premium price. the charging system voltage is more critical to these batteries. Deep discharging of a standard Automotive battery will shorten the battery life. A deep cycle battery will hold up much better. When switching to a Deep Cycle type battery up the CCA rating at least 20% to make sure to have enough cranking power.
  2. My 2014 is closing in on 30000 and there is no issue yet. With a sealed bearing, the bearing life depends on how well the grease seal keeps the water out. Hopfully Ford has Improved the seal quality.
  3. Towing through Kansas can be hard on towing mileage going both east and west. It seems like it is on the nose when ever I have pulled a trailer through there.
  4. Great Job It will very interesting to see the project progress. good Photos. Have you Retired and moved to Missouri? Congratulations on that!
  5. The other cars I have had the Trac off is a button. If you make a habit of turning it off it is not a big deal, however when you are in a situation is is nice to have a dedicated button that you do not have to look for.
  6. Go to Ford.com the USA site and download the US Manual most of it should be the same and it might have more data. Here is the link to the outfit that I purchased the factory manual for my rig. Very complete and cheap not sure if it will work for you but it is Vin Based and should work . Let me know if it works. http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/4402-does-anyone-have-access-to-a-2014-transit-connect-repair-manuel-pdf/?view=findpost&p=12396&hl=%2Bfactory+%2Bmanual
  7. Thanks, The Traction control is controlled through the information center and the left button set on the Steering wheel. It takes several button pushes to Scroll to the Traction Control . Figure it out before you need it . If there were a button it would be much more convenient . I do not have access to the EU owners Manual. Here is what My Manual says Page 125 2014 TC owners manual.rtf says
  8. What is the wrap material like and is it heat formed . I would like a few more Pictures . The Roof seem color is very nice. I know it is summer for a while but you need to look at the owner's manual and learn the procedure for switching the Traction Control off. It will surprise you the first time it engages. It is not a pleasant surprise.
  9. The 245/35/19 has a sidewall of 3.4 inches , The stock tire 215/55/16 has a side wall of 4.7 . In Vermont with dirt roads in the mix even the stock tire is vulnerable to tire and Rim issues . You must have the luxury of smooth roads. I saw the photo of your rig looks very nice.
  10. Can you post a picture of the fan assembly. if so it would be a great help Thanks
  11. DapperVan it will be tight back there, You could face them to the rear. Make sure you have pictures of the Happy Occupants when you are finished .
  12. Yours has AC and there are floor vents for the Heat and AC that are under the front seats for the rear passengers
  13. Sounds like there is some one in some part of the world that is saying I thought I ordered a cargo net where the xxxx is it !!
  14. Usually the people who are interested in the Eco Mode don't need a reminder and the rest buy a fast car with a thirsty powerful motor!!
  15. 40 years ago JC Whitney Use to sell a Color coded Vacuum gauge that mounts on the Dash board and when you put your foot into it hard it would go to Red as the Throttle opened , Showing you that you were using more gas. When you took your foot off the gas it would return to the green zone. It was Called the Econo Meter! This is the up dated version. Nice to see that things do not change as much as you would think. It also shows that Gimmicks that make you think you are saving gas are not new and are not going away.
  16. Thanks for the information . I will have to run a tank of 93 through mine and see what happens .
  17. The traction control on the Gen 2 can be switched off with the Steering wheel mounted control. Scroll through the settings and you can turn it off. The only issue is that it resets when you re start the TC.
  18. Here is the Link http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/4828-trans-drain-and-fill-for-2014-tc-w25-l-6-speed-auto/ Nice form Mustang
  19. Nice Looks like you got just what you wanted. It appears to me like your rig will not see much snow.
  20. The oil service message is for the engine oil not the trans. I changed the Transmission fluid at 26000 and it needed it.
  21. Look at the Pictures I posted on the Trans drain and fill for the bolt to check the level. I will listen for your reaction. Maybe they give you a dip stick in the EU.
