The right left twist is less of an issue than the bending action front to back. The Hitch on your TC will most certainly handle the twist, Box tubing is very strong in that direction. The trailer weight and tongue weight are definitely determined by the load rating, braking capacity and handling traits of the TC.

This issue had nothing to do with you. You are just the unlucky guy who happens to own the TC. Is the 3 year 36000 warranty still good or will it be the 5 year 60000 power train be the cover?

If the after market hitch structure were mechanically attached to the factory hitch it would definitely handle the load. The only question would the weight cause a drive-ability issue . You would want to add a anti rattle to control the hitch slop .

It sounds like something major in the final differential came apart . that would affect all the gears and the park function. How many miles on your rig?

If you disconnect one of the Abs sensor plugs It wills set a code , but it will disable the Traction control and eliminate the ABS function if the shudder goes away then you know where the problem is . If one of the brake hoses is restricted it could make a caliper hold pressure on a disc. The tell tale on that is one of the front wheel would be much hotter than the other.

Did this happen when you were returning into your driveway, or was the first symptom after a start up?

One possibility would be to put the aftermarket hitch on and Connect it to the factory structure. All of which could be done without removing the factory assembly, and would leave the stock appearance.

The fact that The UK version meets the euro emissions and would not require much for the US standard. You should get in touch with Ford Fleet operations and they might have a program. Fiat Chrysler has the program for the Wranglers . All the Wranglers up here are the four door and were sourced from a dealer.

Did you ever figure out the Air Bags?

Looking at Windguys hitch pictures the scooter Lift would really torque the hitch tube. I bought my TC off the Lot so it did not have a factory hitch. The aftermarket Hitch has a more conventional loading to it might handle the scooter lift better. What is the weight of the Scooter and the Lift?

I wonder if Ford is smart enough to be able to lets a UK version be sold as a Mail vehicle. The TC already comes with the right set up.

Like Windguy I am wondering the reason for the hitch removal? If you just don't like the receiver under the bumper. then it would be easy to find some one with a Plasma Cutter and in about 10 minutes it could be edited from the vehicle.

The electric steering assist is set up to center the wheels, which amplify's the torque steer. Had a 1978 Olds Tornado, that had torque steer!

You are correct the shield is on there for the mileage and air flow. I am not sure that the rocks mud and stumps were much of a concern on this van. The front air dam is there to let you know when you have pulled into the parking spot far enough. Did you find the cabin filter access door on the heater housing on the glove box side? You need to see what Is in the filter.

The inclusion of the Tow hook ended when the Gen 2 was released for the US market. If you own a Gen 2 and you are in a place where you could slide off the road you should purchase a tow hook.

Nice Photo Fifty 150, Just remember all the filters have a bypass that sends the oil around the filter on cold starts and full throttle situations. I can see there is no mud and salt where you live, my photo would not be as clean!
