    Roof rack

You can pick suitable furniture plugs and silicone them in place.
  2. I have had 2 mm caliper clearance in some car with original rims so it's nothing to worry about.
  3. Someone here in this forum sold the full manual transmission conversion kit a while ago, imported from the UK. With pedals and a shifter and all. I doubt you can pass the inspection with an Euro-compliant diesel engine :S
  4. Even tho mine is pre-facelift Gen1 with no electronic aids it's still very capable winter vehicle. Good ground clearance and weight distribution. One more unusual thing that's probably got something to do with it: the tire size is correct for the weight of the van. Most modern cars have one or two sizes too wide contact area causing them to float on the snow instead of penetrating it, gripping to the ground.
  5. You may need to have it fixed. There are numerous problems with the speedo cluster in diesel models due to vibration. Mine had rattled the power connector pin off the board.
  6. The Gen1 hook keeps sufficient tension in a standard grocery bag handle so it won't tip over.
  7. The hooks are usually for securing grocery bags in place, My Gen1 has one in the glove box lid. Not sure about the Gen2 hook. The convex mirror is pretty much standard in all cars, it's for keeping an eye on the kids or chatting with the rear passengers. It works both ways, if you have a baby on the back seat, he/she sees your face in it and feels more comfortable.
  8. Try this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/car-manufacturers/ford/10468169/Ford-Tourneo-Connect-review.html Not sure about Gen2 but mine is extremely stable and precise in steering, apart from side wind, of course.
  9. Also the same in the Gen1 TC. I have never seen a car with a covered steering column. Usually it's high behind the dashboard and you don't notice it. With the more upright cabin it's out in the open.
  10. Have you checked the rear drums? I have had problems with those. Replaced twice because they're oval.
  11. Mine's Diesel. An it's funny, but it gets an mpg or two better in city driving. The wind drag drops a couple, I guess. I just recently replaced the transmission, the current one is from a Focus and has a better final drive ratio - less shifts, less wasted movement, better fuel economy.
  12. 40 mpg in the city, a little less on the highway. Drops to 30 in the winter.
  13. Get a Mk1 Focus 1.8TDi gearbox from a scrapper. I did and it's awesome (cost €180 + installation). Much better final gear ratio (2000 rpm at 60 mph in 5th gear). It's a direct fit.
  14. That video is disturbing. The first thing to do after drilling is to rustproof the holes (inside! plenty of body protection compounds available) and put silicone under the plug before screwing it it. No point in smearing it around the plug because it'll dry up and lose its water tightness.
  15. 1) Door insulation 2) Speaker upgrade 3) Amp
  16. You'll lose most of the usable tread in the first summer, so I recommend a swap every season.
  17. Well, it is the same car, Transit name is only reserved for panel vans in Europe, seats and windows mean Tourneo.
  18. This is normal. All speedometers read a few percent too fast if using factory spec tire size.
