    Hello Again

    It's a work in progress:

    Hello Again

Welcome back! Toaster burnt a fuse once again and left for good I think. It's been rather peaceful here since
  3. The ice wall in the edge of the world is very well guarded, no worries.
  4. Actually, it works better for Mk1 which has round perforation. So whenever pulling from a roll of paper you need to be more cautious with the new model so it doesn't rip.
  5. 40 is pretty standard profile index for performance tires.
  6. If you have the plywood cut to fit already then get matching studs, screw them in place so they protrude by half an inch, put the plywood in place, put some pressure on the place where the studs are, they make a mark on the plywood panel. Take the panels out and drill at the marks.
  7. My relative has just bought the Traveller, almost fully loaded at €39K. The few things missing were the auto box, seat ventilation and lane assist.
  8. That's not exclusive to America. Pencil pushers are dumb universally. I remember when the first aftermarket third brake lights started appearing on the market early nineties over here the lawmakers came up with a rule that there have to be two "third" brake lights and they have to be on the rear window, at least 15" apart or something like that. So brainless officials not understanding the actual effect of the third brake light (to be visible through at least one car between the seats to give more cars more reaction time) did not make any sense to them. Same goes with rear fog lights - some idiot required the rear fog light to be positioned off center to the left to some amount. So all the cars with a factory mounted center fog light were illegal.

    Absolutely, really stands out.

Reminded me of this forwarder who operates in the Nordic areas:
  11. Originally it's the third brake light but as it's slightly off center I guess it's not legal in the US so Ford mounted a rooftop brake light for than and blocked the hole with a blank piece.
  12. Those freehand perspective drawings are damn good.

Heh, intense stuff, probably part of some corporate shipment. Leftovers are always significantly cheaper than list price.
  14. Same spot. I contemplated relocating it but not because of reception issues, I wanted to have the whole "forehead" for advertising space. I mostly listen to online streaming sources so radio is rather non-relevant for me. The antenna base has like a depressed spot for it, so even if you plug the bolt hole when relocating you'll have a visible, egg-shaped placeholder there.

    Hello from SoCal

Feel free to be annoyed. You really picked up where T0astervan left off. Guess every forum needs one.
  16. My sister's BMW X1 has a toggle joystick for a shifter. Took me a moment to get it in gear staring at the display for "D" to appear, operates like a sequential box shifter. In any other car, so far, I hadn't even looked at any of the controls.

    Hello from SoCal

Plenty of stereo upgrade topics in this forum, feel free to browse.
  18. Did you check the back of your radio for antenna connection? The antenna should be good enough, never had any reception problems. The first and easiest thing is to try another antenna (just try to top part without the base first). Any off the shelf antenna with a 5 or 6 mm (don't recall, seems to be standard) thread should fit. Ask for recommendations from specialists. I broke mine off some time and replaced it with the base. Made a 2" H-shaped incision in the headliner, pushed the "flaps" in and unbolted the antenna. Make sure to use a magnetic wrench bit so the bolt won't fall behind the insulation. Not too hard to get it out if it does tho. Hook or tie the antenna cable before removing the bolt completely so you wan't have to fish it if it moves around or falls in some crack. You can close the H-shaped incision afterwars and not even notice it's there.
  19. What's the gridlock period in LA? Whenever I drive to and from Germany I need to plan the drive so I hit east of Warszawa (Poland) in the middle of the night. Morning and evening means bumper-to-bumper with semi trucks with no air to breathe for dozens of miles.
  20. Actually, the TC can handle some serious cargo as well. I have put at least a metric ton in my Mk1 van and it was fine. I'm yet to overload my new one
  21. My cargo TC with a rigid bulkhead has a lousy A/C.
