My idea is to use a full size futon mattress with dimensions 53" x 75" should fit just about perfect. Put in the platform in in two pieces with the "rails" that collapse with piano hinges. No real furniture since all I really need is a bed with storage underneath, a little bit higher than what yours appears to be. I want to be able to take it in or out as I choose with a minimum of effort so I can continue to haul things when not road tripping. I suspect it will end up looking more like a 70s hippie van (no disco balls or all that silly crap) than it will a true camper. I'm a big fan of simplicity.

One suggestion for the kitchen unit (and any furniture really) is to make it strong. I recycled the original cargo shelves that were in mine and it should survive most anything ... (and as mentioned earlier, mine's a work in progress)

The BMS did not work for an AGM battery. It holds the state of charge (SOC) at 80% and only applies 12.2-12.7V to maintain the state. This is too low for an AGM that needs to be around 12.8-12.9V. I disabled BMS using Forscan and selected a different battery type: T7 IF 75ah 650CCA. Now the charging system increased the SOC from 80% to over 90%. At 90% the charge voltage dropped to 14.7V. This is the recommended float voltage by Odyssey for the AGM. Now the battery is holding 12.8-12.9V . It looks like I found the proper setting.

If you do go the warranty route,I would not mention your wet saltwater gear as I'm sure they would use that as an excuse to deny coverage. Wet gear inside a warm closed up van probably creates a "salty" humidity. My family owns a house less than 1/4 mi from the ocean and anything that can rust eventually does,even indoors. Your rust spots are identical to the rust we get on the edges of appliances where paint is thinest.

Obviously the respect part is a joke but I cannot recall when I last used the horn, maybe a year ago?

Jesus, how often do you use the horn, especially for respect?

Thanks JRM, but after finally getting underneath it (and following the sound), I found it on the passenger side behind where the lower fog light would be (don't have any). It was a dual tone for sure, and one of the wires to one of the horns looked worn. I had a spare mini air horn kit laying around, wired that up and now the van has air horns!

The shop didn't reset mine at first oil change (5k) and it came on right at 9.5k which makes sense since the manual states not to go more than 500 more miles without changing oil and never to exceed 10k. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it is set at 9.5k and one year intervals. You'd have to show proof to get me to believe that the input parameters are anything more than mileage and/or time.

Me too. I once had a bug in my backup assist system........but I just rolled down the window and brushed him right off the mirror.
