  1. Great idea cruisinkruty!! I have posted my "approval"in my gallery.
  2. Welcome Mark. Although there are plenty of forum members on this US Transit Connect Forum that will reply, you should also try the UK Transit Connect Forum, http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=54 . The US only received the Transit Connect for the model year 2010 so our knowledge of a 2001 is limited. The UK site must have hundreds of postings about replacing seats and wheels! Good Luck.
  3. Hello johnnyangel. The front fog lights are held in by four screws from the back of the fog light into the bumper cover. It should take less than a few minutes to remove the fog light and disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Hello Johnyguy. Back in 2012, there is a string of emails about forum members waiting for delivery. Even after the Transit Connect being in this country for two years, the delivery time for an order was 7 months.
  5. Hello gordow. Strange about your DTC's. Those codes are not listed anywhere in Ford's list of DTC's. As per Ford, " The parking aid system is disabled if a fault is detected in any of the four sensors, the parking aid speaker or the PAM (Parking Aid Module)". Also as per Ford, "If no DTC's related to the concern are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart". The Symptom Chart only has three items, the one that may apply to your issue is, "Continuous or intermittent tone when no obstacles or fault codes are present". The three possible causes listed are, dirty or iced over sensors, sensor not locked into the bumper correctly, sensor not aligned correctly. I am sure those sensors are expensive and I would not buy one just as a guess.
  6. Tough questions gordow. Here is what I can contribute. The Parking Aid (that is the official Ford terminology) uses fuse 152 in the Central Junction Box (the fuse panel to the left of the sterring column). Fuse 152 is in the fifth row from the top, fourth from the left in a row of five fuses. It is a 7.5 amp fuse. Errors in the Parking Aid, as most electronic automotive systems, throw trouble codes. There are seventeen trouble codes, B1299, B1342, B2477, C1699, C1700-1710, C1742, C1743, each refering to a different part in the Parking Aid. If you do not have a test tool to pull the trouble codes, they can be displayed on the LCD screen on your dash cluster. If any of the above codes appear, you have found the problem. I started a topic about how to use the LCD screen on the dash to show trouble codes a few years ago, here is the URL http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/636-fuel-mileage-display/?hl=dash#entry4606 , my post is the fifth one in the string. You can Google the trouble code for a description or go to this website for a complete list of Ford Trouble codes http://www.edgeproducts.com/product_images/customer_support_article-pdf-41.pdf Good Luck.
  7. mrtn, once again, UK MIRRORS DO NOT WORK ON US TRANSIT CONNECTS!!!!!!!! We discussed this on this same string back in October 2012! The fixed lower mirror angle is wrong for US driving on the right side of the road. Why do you think when forum members order their mirrors from a UK Ford Dealer, he gets them from Germany instead of pulling them of his parts shelf? As per my posts, I bought UK mirrors and modified them, so my info is first hand.
  8. Hello dbarr2, "A few months" is the key to your problem, at least it would be if you were in the US. It is an easy fix so try it. Here in the US, if the Transit Connect is not started for over 50 days, the engine management computer is programmed to shut down! The fix is to remove your battery for over 2 minutes, then re-connect it. That resets the timer on the computer. Give it a try and good luck!
  9. Hello deaster, as per the parts catalogue for 2010 and 2011, the moulding is held on by adhesive.
  10. Hello toddkageals. I priced the rear wheel well covers when the taxi was first released. At that time, they were about 450 dollars for the pair. I did not purchase them since they only solved half the issue, the rear walls remained exposed.
  11. Hello Elliot. As per the 2010 workshop manual, 88/150 amps (max) @ 1,800-6,000 alternator RPM, approximately 500-2,000 engine RPM. I think the 2011 would have the same alternator specs, your Ford dealer can look it up for you if you want to confirm there was no change.
  12. Hello Hal. Here is the URL to the Ford Brochure....... http://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Transit%20Connect%20Commercial&year=2014 . Page 4 has a good shot of a 5 seater with the seat folded back. You may have already seen the brochure. I just cannot tell if it is a LWB or SWB. You are correct, it looks like you lose height when they are folded down.
  13. Hello Top Cat (its been awhile!). I am sure you checked the owners manual, but just in case...... On the radio....... ADV MENU: When ADV MENU (Advanced menu) appears in the display, press and hold MENU to access the following features: • NEWS ON/OFF: News features are not available in the U.S. and Canada markets. • CLIP ON/OFF: Press to turn nominal volume levels on/off. • VEHICLE ID: Press to view the vehicle’s VIN number. • BT ON/OFF: Press to turn Bluetooth ON/OFF (if equipped). "CLIP AUDIO" in audio speak means when trying to drive the audio amplifier past its maximum output, the audio is "CLIPPED" at the amplifers maximum output.
  14. I changed the title, no problem. Those tires and wheels are so tempting, someone will buy them!
  15. Hello Ben (or should I say Manchurian Candidate? Great movie). As a start, here are two aftermarket URL's for interior panels for the back side walls and rear doors, http://www.inlad.com/fordtransitconnectpolylinerpackage4522.aspx?DepartmentId=765 and http://www.inlad.com/adriansteeltransitconnectreardoorpanelsforstepladders.aspx . Ford also has panels for the rear doors. Here is the URL on this forum by member Hal back in 2010. Hal posted a very nice set of pictures of his liner installation,
  16. Hello Oneida 101. The 2010 Workshop Manual does not have anything specific to the fuel door. The following is just my idea....... I think the fuel door is attached to the bezel the fits around the fuel filler pipe. There are screws that hold the fuel filler bezel in place. I would first remove the fuel cap and then the screws. The bezel and fuel door may come out as one piece. A few things to remember.....watch out while you are working near any fuel fumes (seems silly but I had to add that!), also remember the fuel door is connected to a cable that drops a metal stop half way along the sliding door track when the fuel door is fully open. That is to prevent the sliding door from hitting the fuel door when it is open. My other idea is to remove the right rear wheel splash shield. Good luck!
  17. Hello darknight1999, welcome to the forum. Your question was answered back in December 2012 by forum member Pat. Use the search function and enter "Traction Control" to view the many different postings, or use this URL to go right to the begining of the one solution posted, http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/473-traction-control/ . Pats solution is on page 2. As far as any one has posted, Ford does not offer their own solution to turn off the traction control.
  18. Ok Erik, I posted four pictures in "My Gallery" of my left rear door. Hope that helps.

  23. Hello Chris. Here is the URL to the Ford owners manual web site, https://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePageVehicleLookup&BackToLogin=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&ord=56063136 , the service intervals are in the scheduled maintenance guide. Most large organizations keep service logs, maybe ADT has one for the Transit Connect you are looking at. As Willie says, most of us, including myself, are very happy with our vans. Welcome to the family!
