  1. My 2010 has a rachet that has three positions between the down position (below horozontal) and horizontal.
  2. Hello coffee_king. Although on this US Transit Connect site we have a few UK/EU members (mrtr is one of them, thanks for replying), your best source for the information would be the UK Transit Connect site, http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=54&sid=7042886a637bb105afb11c0aaf117afa . They are very helpful.
  3. JimmyJ, you asked about the Transit, meaning the full size van. "Summer 2014". Now, if you meant Transit Connect, "Early 2014". Both dates from the Ford website. Which are you looking for?
  4. As per the Ford website http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/transit/ , "Summer 2014" as a 2015 model year.
  5. All USA Transit Connects use a timing chain. No doubt about it.
  6. Willie is correct, take it back to the dealer. They will take it outside and run a hose on it to trace the leak.
  7. Welcome to the forum. here is some info to get you started. If you are looking for a graphics site, here is the URL for the company that has the official Ford tie in, www.fordcommercialgraphics.com/index.php . Any quality graphics company can create a design of your choice. There are also multiple aftermarket interior suppliers for shelving and ladder racks, here is one of them, http://www.inlad.com/ , I am sure other forum members will reply with their suggestions. Enjoy your Transit Connect!
  8. vcyper, you have a tough one. The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is mounted, as you said, behind the fuse box. What this really means is it is mounted on the back side of the dash. You will need to get under the dash to see it. To make matters even worse, there are 5 connectors plugged into the GEM, 201A through 201E and they are all 23 pin connectors.. You want 201A. With your head under the dash, it will be the second connector from the left. Pin 11 on 201A is the only GN/WT (green with white stripe) wire in any of the connectors. Each connector has 4 rows of pins, pin 11 is in the row with 6 pins. It only has voltage in the run or start ignition position, so it is easy to check with a volt meter. The gray connector you want, C213, is under the hood, as you said, driver's side of the firewall, close to the fender, behind the strut tower. Once again, there are multiple connectors at that location, C213 and C215, C213 should be the one on the left (further from the fender). C213 is the only connector with a black with red stripe wire. Good Luck.
  9. cosmicray, you are correct, FM broadcast signals are a combination of both, and with some also using circular polarization. Verticle polarization is the prefered method. Just think about it, what type of polarization is the automobile "wip" antenna? Vertical. Where are the vast majority of FM radio broadcasts received? In automobiles! Amateur radio operators (Hams)(yes, I am one) use all three, vertical, horizontal and circular antenna polaization when using FM. For example, handheld (walkie talkies) and most mobile are vertical, directional antennas (from fixed locations) are horizontal and satellite antennas are circular. Yes, years ago, there was a FM mobile antenna hams used just as you described, called a Squalo. Look at my gallery, I have a vertical ham radio FM antenna mounted on my left rear door. Thanks for the interesting posting.
  10. Your welcome. Helping each other, a perfect example of what, among other things, this forum tries to accomplish.
  11. 79.3 inches as per the Ford Body Builders Layout Book https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2010/2010_Transit_Connect.pdf
  12. Hello cosmicray. Your math is close to being perfect. As per 7/27/2010, here are the figures Ford posted for the Transit Connect in the European Union. Urban-7.3 l/100km, Extra Urban-5.4 l/100km and Combined-6.1 l/100km, using the formular to convert into MPG (US), Urban-32.22 mpg, Extra Urban-43.55 and Combined-38.55. If, according to your fuel figures, you would save $750 per year, how much of a premium would a diesel engine cost? Every manufacturer charges more for their diesel than their gas engine. Divide the premium by the yearly savings and that is how long it will take to just get back your original extra cost. Then you start saving money! And yes, I also wanted a diesel! Welcome to the Ford Transit Connect Forum.
  13. Hello sym. Welcome to the Transit Connect Forum US. I think your question could be answered on the Transit Connect Forum UK. The Transit Connect with manual gearbox has never been sold in the US. Try this URL http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=133834&p=1109557&hilit=dual+mass+flywheel#p1109557 it contains your issue on a 75ps. Good Luck.
  14. nphinc, the procedure I read is slightly different than what you describe. After you push in the tab (locking pin), you release the key and let it go back to its vertical position. Then you rotate the door lock cylinder clockwise not the key. The cylinder is supposed to then come out. If the lock cylinder does not rotate (and it seems as if yours does not), I am sure you thought of using some silicon spray. Let us know.
  15. Hello Erik, new Transit Connect? Take it back to the dealer. if one side is quiet and the other is noisy, have them replace the latch, and if necessary, keep replacing it until they get one that works! Noisy latch aside, enjoy your Transit Connect!
  16. Hello and welcome Curious1. My first thought is to take it back to the dealer for the noise. As for the fuse box cover, you are correct, it feels like it will break when you pull on it. Every owner of a Transit Connect says the same thing! It will come off, just pull very hard! There are two clips along the top that hold it on. The bottom is held in place by two plastic hinges that fit over the bottom edge, so only pull from the top. After what is needed to just get the fuse box cover off, if you still want to remove the steering column trim panel, there are eight of the same type of clips holding it on, plus a screw below the fuse box cover opening. Good Luck.
  17. Hello mrlizzzard. Try this this posting http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/405-key-blank-or-replacement/?hl=keys#entry3645 The string started in 2010 and the last post was 2012. Hope it helps.
  18. Hello barnsey. Not to many door lock problems on our US Transit Connect Forum. The UK Forum has 372! Try this URL http://fordtransit.org/forum/search.php?keywords=rear+door+lock&fid%5B0%5D=54 and continue to visit us.
  19. Hello ftconnect. Since this is the US Transit Connect Forum, we do not get any engine with a turbo! The US has only had the Transit Connect since 2010 with one gas engine. We do have some UK members that might help, otherwise, your best bet is to use the UK Transit Connect Forum at http://fordtransit.org/forum/ . They have many posts about silicone intake pipes. You might also try eBay UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/dsc/i.html?LH_TitleDesc=1&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=ford+transit+connect+silicone+pipe&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xford+transit+connect+silicone+pipe&_osacat=0&_odkw=ford+transit+connect+turbo+intake+pipe The blue looks terrific! This forum does have many posts that apply to both US and UK Transit Connects so continue to stop back!
  20. Hello pentaxian450. This topic was covered in a string starting in December 2010. The December 2012 entry by forum member Pat, gives instructions. Here is the URL http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/473-traction-control/ .
  21. Ok, you wrote "rear accessory fuse", that is why I took you down the rear power point road. From your picture, you have fuses in both the front cigar lighter and front power point fuse sockets. One last idea, does the horn work? You wrote the TPMS light is on. There is a possibility that the horn/TPMS/cigar lighter not working could be related. Let me know if the horn works.
  22. Thanks for the picture. from what I see, you have no fuse in the rear power point fuse socket. From the right side of your picture, it is the second row. Count up 4 spaces and insert a 15 amp fuse. The first row on the right has two fuses next to each other, location 180 and 179, red (7.5 amp) and yellow (20 amp) to help you chose the correct row. I do have one question. We are talking about the REAR power point, correct? The one inside the right rear door. The reason I ask is I also have a 2010 XL and it does not have a rear power point. It has the cutout, but no socket or wiring.
  23. Hello ja95sc3. Forum member Precisionair answered a similar question about your year for radio removal back in May. Here is the URL http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/1906-stock-stereo-removal-2013-transit-connect-xl/ . I do not have first hand knowledge of the 2013 wiring, although I can tell you in the 2010 you could swap the base radio and the upgrade without any issues.
  24. Hello GroundHogg. the rear power point is fuse 174. Looking at the Central Junction Box (the Ford name for the fuse box under the dash), fuse 174 is the fourth fuse from the left on the second row from the bottom. The second and third rows from the bottom both have six fuses so you will know when you are in the correct location.
