  1. Hello mrdavies, yes, the climate controls are illuminated. The climate control assembly contains 4 internal lamps. They are supplied voltage from the Central Junction Box (fuse panel) to the left of the sterring column, fuse F132, 10amp. The circuit also supplies voltage to the illumination of the air inlet mode switch/ac switch/defroster switch/hazard flashed switch/floor shifter. Are those switches illuminated?
  2. Hello johnsonmy, be carefull water does not get in the air cleaner box.
  3. Hello cosmicray. Since you mentioned the gas cap was tight, here are most of the reasons for the code, Missing or loose fuel cap - Incorrect fuel filler cap used - Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close - Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap - EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks - EVAP system hose leaking - Fuel tank leaking My P0455 code was set by a loose fuel cap. If it does not come back, I would not worry.
  4. Hello mustang. I should have been more specific on my question on how the average miles per gallon is reset on the second generation Transit Connects. My question is, does pushing the "OK" button reset the average miles per gallon data in the powertrain control module, not just the display. This is in reference to forum member Johnyguy and his miles to empty issue. If pressing the "OK" button just resets the display, then the miles to empty will always calculate based on the average miles per gallon held in the powertrain control module. Here is the test, fill up the tank. Start the van. Do not move away from the pump. Press the "OK" button to reset. Now display miles to empty. Since you have not moved, your average miles per gallon is zero and your miles to empty should also be zero since it there is no miles per gallon average to calculate the miles to empty. If there is a figure in the miles to empty display, then the "OK" button reset does not reset the calculation in the powertrain control module.
  5. Hello Johnyguy. Here is how it works in the first generation Transit Connects in the US, it may also apply to your second generation......The distance to empty is calculated on the average miles per gallon the vehicle computer has calculated since it was last reset (more on that later). So, if the average miles per gallon as calculated by the Transit Connect computer is 26 and the average on the last tankfull was 28 there is more full left in the tank than the distance to empty would lead you to believe. Now for the "reset" issue. There is no way that I know of, or has been posted, on how to reset the miles per gallon average, except, as I found out, if you disconnect the battery. Unless anyone knows how to reset the miles per gallon average on the first generation Transit Connect after each fuel fillup, the average shown is from brand new! I am very interested on how the miles per gallon average is reset on the second generation Transit Connect if anyone knows how.
  6. Hello bikinchris. Take another look at your tire pressure sticker on your drivers door jam. I would be very supprised if you tire pressure for your front tires are higher than your rears.
  7. Hello jifanch3. Good question! The manual has a few pages on the locking system but nothing close to answering your question. Johnyguy, as for Formula 1, Hamiltons last pit stop in the Singapore Grand Prix was very exciting!
  8. Hello kmillervr, I agree with mrtn. My four years in the rust belt and no issues.
  9. bikinchris, it's a new 2014, time to take it back to the dealer. Let us know what was wrong.
  10. Hello bikinchris. Tire pressure drops 1psi for every 10degreesF. The "cold front" would not have caused your issue unless the tire pressure was so low that a 1 or 2 degree drop in psi set off the warning. Let us know if driving turned off the warning light.
  11. Take a look at our forum member NWCamperman's fan installation http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/gallery/image/561-fantastic-fan/ , he is using windguy's Fantastic Vent/Fan suggestion.
  12. Welcome Eazy. From reading your post, I think you will be posting from the mechanical view of your Transit Connect. That will be very helpfull to our new forum members to get more technical postings for the second generation of Transit Connects in the US.
  13. Johnyguy, is correct. There are many reasons you would not be able to bring one over from Europe. First is the cost of shipping, $3,000 dollars or more from the UK. The second, you have to have the engine modified to pass US emissions. Third, all US safety standards need to be installed, including all air bags. The list goes on and on. Importing vehicles was popular back in the 1980's, since then the US regulations have brought an end to what were called "grey market" vehicles.
  14. Johnyguy, as per your owners manual......AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECK The automatic transmission does not have a transmission fluid dipstick.
  15. Hello Johnyguy. I have said this many times on this forum, go back to the dealer. They just sold you the vehicle and part of their delivery process is to show you how it works! They clearly did not. You spent your money with the dealer, now get all you deserve from them. If they need motivation to find out the answer to your question, remind them about the survey Ford will send you.
  16. Ok postoak213, here is the next idea. The cruise control will send DTC's (trouble codes) if it is not working. You can display the codes on the LCD display on your dash. Here is the post where I explained how to retrieve information and display it on the LCD display, http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/636-fuel-mileage-display/#entry4606 , position 9 holds the DTC's. P0579, P0581, P1572, and P1703 are the four DTC's for the cruise control. If any of those codes show up, Google them for a description of what is wrong. Good Luck!
  17. Hello postoak213. There are two fuses in the cruise control circuit. Fuse 142 (15 amp) in the fuse panel under the dash and fuse 26 (10 amp) in the fuse panel under the hood by the battery. If you have trouble finding them, let me know and I will write further directions.
  18. You are correct 2013TransitConnect, the TPMS sensors do have batteries. Just a a bit of information, the sensors transmit information once every minute when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 MPH, or once every 6 hours when stationary.
  19. Hello 2013TransitConnect. It was not hard, The problem is not to cut too much. It just needs the proper planning and tools. I used a Dremel tool with the bit that is used for cutting out wallboard around outlet and switch boxes. After installing the liner, I started from the middle of the jack opening (of course, measuring twice) and cut out small sections at a time untill I got close (about a half inch) to the metal edge of the opening. I then finished it off by running the bit along the metal edge. Be carefull and good luck!
  20. Hello Hal. After 4 years, i finally got the 4522 poly liner in my budget! I posted a few pictures in my Gallery. The only changes I made to my install from yours are, I did not cut out around the seat belt retractor, and I did cut out an opening for the jack. I think it looks good, and matches the interior color very well. Only yourself and 2013TransitConnect, besides myself, have added the interior liner. Anyone else out there that has??
  21. 2013TransitConnect, NICE! Where is the jack in your van? In the left side or under the floor extension?
  22. As per the 8.18 issue of Automotive News, the 2014 Transit Connect seven seater makes up 85 percent of Transit Connect Wagon sales. Wagon sales are now 34 percent of all Transit Connect sales, up from 13 percent from the 2010-2013 version. Sales in July totaled 4,090, up 42 percent from July 2013.
  23. Hello Will. Look at this posting from forum member Hal. It contains good pictures of the rear seat belts taken when he installed rear van interior wall liners. http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/332-4522-poly-liner-package/#entry1462
