  1. Correct mrtn, USA Transit Connects 2010-2013. Seat belts will be needed for the two outer positions.

  3. Hello Spooner. Measure the length the struts open to, deduct an inch. Buy two bungee cords, the solid rubber type, as close to what you need or even longer and cut to required size.. Attach each end by ty-wraps or clamps near the anchoring points of the struts.
  4. Hello erwinTransit. You are correct. A whole lot of parts to remove before the exterior door handle comes off.First is the door lock, then the door latch, then, finally, the exterior door handle. Let me know if you want further info and I will respond.
  5. lortech, I do not agree with mrtn. There are no systemic auto transmission issues. As for the following issues, most of which have never appeared on this forum, I again do not agree.....Other problems that have been reported and I have experienced include door lock issues, stone chips that create zinc bubbles under the paint, heater blower resistor pack or plug failing (max speed working only), overhead light acting up (related to door lock/contact issues, probably). Front tire wear (more in the inside), not sure what's the reason, I have experienced it on both my units, heated windshield issues, rear barn door hinges wearing out if not greased properly, door sill rust if not equipped with mud flaps. Spot check the older entries from Transit Connect owners on this forum from the US as opposed to mrtn an his european view. I think you will find the Transit Connect first generation (2010-2013) in this country has been a sold workhorse.

  7. Terrific! I am glad we worked through the trouble shooting. I am glad you did not spend money on sensors thst were not needed. So, it looks like whatever connectivity issue the sensors had was resolved. Bad/loose connector/cable somewhere? Fixed by hitting a pothole? It does not matter, I am glad it is back working. Enjoy your Transit Connect.

Ford worker in Ohio charged with stealing tire sensors, selling them on eBay, report says December 11, 2015 - 9:58 am ET A Cleveland-area auto worker has been indicted for allegedly stealing thousands of tire sensors at a Ford plant and selling them on eBay, causing a brief interruption in vehicle production, according to a local media report. According to a report on the website of Newsnet 5, an ABC affiliate TV station in Cleveland, Joseph Jankulovich, 48, of Sheffield, Ohio, faces felony theft and receiving stolen property charges related to his alleged theft of Ford OEMS tire sensors from Ford's Avon Lake assembly plant. An Avon Lake police detective told the TV station that, based on records, he estimated approximately 5,000 sensors were sold, while “Ford estimates they were missing around 8,000.” The detective said the parts cost auto dealers up to $100 but were allegedly sold all over the world on eBay by the suspect, who charged customers in the $10 to $20 range. He added that the auto parts “were sold internationally,” including to Germany, and “it was a very good value to buy this at the price he was selling them,” Newsnet 5 reported. The station noted that at one point so many sensors were missing from the factory Ford was forced to halt production briefly. “That’s basically what got the attention of [Ford] calling me,” the police detective told Newsnet 5. “They had them flown from Michigan to get the line moving again.” A Ford spokeswoman declined to comment because the matter remains the subject of an ongoing investigation. It was not clear if other plant workers were under investigation. The report said that over a period of time police made several purchases of the tire sensors, tracing them back to the vehicle plant and to Jankulovich. Police said Ford estimated the value of the items stolen at more than $500,000, according to the TV station. The Avon Lake plant, which opened in 1974, currently produces E-series strip chassis and F-650/750 medium-duty trucks. Automotive News.
  9. As per Autodata Corp. It looks like Transit Connect sales are doing well....... Ford: Ford posted a slight 0.4% sales increase in November from a year ago, with sales totaling 187,784 units in November. Leading the way was the automaker's F-Series trucks, with sales increasing 10.4% from a year ago to 65,192 units sold. The brands all-new Edge also performed well, with sales increasing 6.4% over last year. But the big winners were the automaker's Transit and Transit Connect commercial vans, which realized sales increases of 97.6% and 93.8%, respectively.
  10. leisurebob, not good news. The repair for what seems to be your issue involves multiple tests of wiring and components in the TPMS system. Plus, even though you are not displaying a trouble code, it could still be one of your sensors. If Ford was troubleshooting your issue, they could download the past history of your TPMS and see what and when and where the issue started. There does not seem to be any easy diagnosis. I will continue to look.
  11. leisurebob, I just checked my 2010 Transit Connect. It also displays "C127" after DTC. I just scanned for trouble codes using a external scanner and nothing came up. Let me see if I can find anything else on "C127". One more possiblity. If the TPMS warning light flashes for about 70 seconds and then remains on, it is not the sensors, it is a indicator of no communication to the controller network from the TPMS and no trouble code is created.
  12. leisurebob, Ford does not have any trouble code "C127". The 20 TPMS trouble codes are what I have listed. Go through the the display once again and check again for any of the codes I listed. Let us know.
  13. leisurebob, can you get a touble code out of the system? Ther are 20 trouble codes that a malfunctioning TPMS system can throw, many of them do not include a problem with the sensors. Read this forum entry of mine back in 2012 on how to display trouble codes using the LCD readout on your dash. http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/636-fuel-mileage-display/?hl=dash#entry4606 Here are the codes, B106D/B106E/B106F/B1217/B1218/B1317/B1342/B1359/B1363/B2477/B2868/B2869/B2870/B2871/B2872/B287A/C2780/U0155/U2023/U2050. Use Google to find out what each refer to. I would not want you to spend money on sensors and their install only to find out the warning light is still on!!

  16. kndlkstms, I could not disagree more with your transmission comment. On what do you base your comments? There is no evidence of "transmissions go bad around 60K" on any website as being an issue with Transit Connects. On a case by case basis, any vehicle can have a bad transmission. To mark all Transit Connects as having bad transmissions after 60K is just wrong.
  17. Hello westshore. As per the 2010 Transit Connect wiring diagram, there is a wiring run above both side doors. If you have the DeWalt Tool Link option, the antennas are also above both side doors.
  18. Hello kndlkstms. My 2010 wiring diagram does not have any of the circuits you describe. If any forum members have a 2012 wiring diagram, I hope they jump in and help. I do have a question. I do not understand what you mean by "battery saver relay position CJB #128"? My CJB wiring diagram only shows 35 positions. Maybe I can help. Where is position 128 in the CJB? There are four groups of relays in my CJB. From right to left, a group of six, group of three, group of four and one single relay. If I had to guess, i would say the group of six or the group of four are where the missing relay belongs. Let us know.
  19. Hello Marty72. If I remember the UK shorthand of describing the year of the vehicle, you should have a late 2003 model. That is older than mine, BUT, I had a similar problem with the time and trip odometer. It turned out to be the factory radio. My Ford dealer reprogramed it to solve the issue.
  20. GBL, no external amp, the radio is self-contained. The speaker wiring harness is simple. leaving the connector on the back of the radio, it splits twice behind the radio, one cable run each to the front doors. Each door has a connector.
  21. AutoDetailerUK, well, at least you now know it is not a fuse! Unconfigured is the key. The factory radios communicate with other electronics in the van such as the LCD display in the speedo cluster. If you could check for a trouble code, I bet you will find U0155 or U0238 or U0140. The radio not communicating could be anything from broken speaker wires, bad connections on the back of the radio, to even low (less than 10 volts) battery voltage. Good luck.
  22. Hello AutoDetailerUK, the 6000CD, as per the Ford Wiring Diagram Manual, does not have a internal fuse. It does use two fuses in the fuse panel under the dash as I am sure you have checked by using GBL's advise.
  23. Hello Timbo. DO NOT PRY THE SWITCH OUT FROM ABOVE. As per the 2010 Ford Transit Connect workshop manual, you will need to remove the rear consol first, then release the four tabs holding in the switches and remove them from the inside of the console.
  24. DonShockley, very nice of you to offer all that expertise to goldfilm. Speaking of "gold", your posts on adding addtional wiring to the second generation of Transit Connects is the "gold standard".
