  1. Thanks DonShockley, I was in the Adrian web site to copy the URL but you beat me! Tcconvert, the panels were the first thing I bought for my 2010. I could not stand the ugly panels. A few forum members attached flexible netting to the panels to make storage pockets. Soft items and even spray cans fit.
  2. Hello BenFirst. As per the 2010 wiring diagram, once again, fuse 174 is for the rear power point. Please confirm you are looking at the correct fuse position, Central Junction Box (CJB), under the dash, to the left of the steering column, row just up from the last row, fourth fuse position from the left. Let us know.
  3. Amazing story! The van can be replaced, you can't.
  4. G B L, just a guess, I think it is a potentiometer (variable resistor). Turn it one way, less resistance in a circuit, turn it the other way, more resistance. It could be used for a headlamp aiming motor, up or down.
  5. Here is an idea for 2014+ Transit Connect owners, but first a little background...... The 2010 Transit Connect started out with no front fog lamps but did have rears! When I added my first, of many lights, the 2011 was released with both front and rear fog lamps. I noticed the main lighting switch had an additional position for the front fog lights so I bought the 2011 switch and used it to control the front fog lamps I added. Now, back to 2016.... If you are adding additional lighting in your 2014+ Transit Connect, why not buy the UK/EU switch and use it to control your additional lights or any other accessory that many need a switch.
  6. Hello T0ASTERvan. Nice post. Is that reset process in the owners manual? If so, another reason to read the manual. If it is not, thanks for the info.
  7. Hello tcconvert. Your post reads like the Ford dealership correctly handled your issue as per how I previously commented. Glad it worked out well.
  8. There is always a lot of talk on this forum about tubocharging but only one member actually did anything. Back in 2011, a forum member, sunnysmith (a very nice guy), turbo charged his Transit Connect. Do a search on his forum name and enjoy the read! Here is one of his posts...... With the current FSWERKS setup I am not sure where we are at on HP, but it is probably above 200. Once we have the electronic boost controller in we can push it more, but even where it is, the van is awesome. I've put 500 miles on it since the install and have been driving a little more spirited now and then. Most people that I take for a ride just smile and laugh. They can't believe it. The van is a real contradiction. You hear the big turbo whoosh and it puts you back in your seat a little bit. I think the real value of the turbo comes out on the highway. Its not a sports car, but it is drivable and you can cruise at 80mph in the wind with no problems. As for the transmission... With the extra cooler on it, I have not seen temps above 150. Granted, the highest outside temp has been 90, so it will be interesting to see what happens this summer. I don't feel that I am abusing it really. If I remember correctly, he also added a third row of seats! Sunny has not been on the forum since the turbo project finished back in 2011. I always wondered what happened to him.
  9. tcconvert, I am always upset when the service department in a dealership is poorly managed (G B L is correct). Every service department has "Waiters". When you call, the appointment should be made as a "waiter". The next step is to have the service technician that is assigned, to go take a ride with you to hear the noise. The tech then goes to work on your van. A quick inspection on the lift will show if anything is loose. If nothing is found, the tech then goes online and checks the Ford database of issues to see if there is one that matches yours. If nothing is found, the tech can call Ford Technical Support and speak to a manufacture service tech. If your Ford dealership does not operate as above, go to another. You paid for the van and deserve the correct assistance as per your warranty. Remember the problem you are having when you get the email asking for a review of your service visit. Good luck on Tuesday.
  10. Hello tcconvert. Why are you spending your time on trying to resolve your noise issue? You have a brand new Transit Connect. Bring it back to the dealer. The noise happens every time the van moves, so you will not get a "no problem found" from the service department.
  11. Hello T0ASTERvan. A good dealership checks every vehicle in for service for recalls. Anytime a recall is completed, all manufacturers require a paper trail, a repair order, to be created. The repair order needs to be signed by the customer. If your dealership did a recall on your vehicle while it was in for routine service, you would see it on the repair order. If the recall was announced before the vehicle was sold, the dealership is required to complete the recall before the customer takes delivery of the vehicle. In that case, you would not know the recall was completed.
  12. Hello roadready. There is not much external to the radio involving the speakers. Both speakers are connected to the 8 pin connector on the back of the radio. Since the radio stays on but both speakers go dead, the first place to look is the only external item that both are connected to, and that is the connector. The problem is, you have mentioned you have checked it. It is always possible the problem is in the radio. Unlikely, but possible.
  13. Hello roadready. mrtn is correct, there is no separate amp. I do have a question. When you hit a bump, does the radio turn off (display goes blank), or does the audio just go off?
  14. Hello PATWS6. If I was to guess, I think mrtn is correct, it seems like a grounding issue. Here are a few tests for the alternator......With the engine NOT running, use a volt meter to check the voltage between the positive cable to the alternator (top rear of the alternator) and any near ground. It should measure the same as the battery voltage. With the engine running at idle, headlights on and blower on high, check the voltage between the positive cable to the alternator and the positive terminal of the battery. The voltage drop should be less than 0.5 volts. With the engine not running, disconnect the positive cable to the alternator and with a ohm meter, check the resistance between the generator housing and ground. It should be less than 25,000 ohms. There must be two dozen checks of just the connectors and wiring. This is a tough problem to figure out without trouble codes. All the above tests would show trouble codes if there was a problem. Good luck.
  15. BossMan, three questions. Have you had the Transit Connect since new, or did you just get it with the turn signal blinker problem? Are there any trouble codes? What are the turn signal bulb numbers?
  16. Hello BossMan. There is not too much in the turn signal circuit. The turn signal switch completes the circuit for the left or right side for the Generic Electronic Module (GEM). The GEM then sends the voltage to the turn signal bulbs. The GEM also controls the speed of the blinking. The GEM controls numerous items in the van, so it is a last resort to replace. Let me look for other possible reasons.
  17. Hello BenFirst. Here are the Ford Body Builder URL's for the 2010-1013 and 2014-2016 Transit Connects. They will have all the dimensions you should need to know. The 2010-2013 Transit Connects came with one wheelbase and only with the high roof. When Ford changed to the mini-van look they dropped the high roof. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2010/2010_Transit_Connect.pdf, https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2014/2014_Transit_Connect_v1-0.pdf
  18. Ford will replace the brake hydraulic control unit on 600 2016 Transit Connect vans. The affected vehicles, all built at the Blue Oval's Valencia, Spain, factory between February 22 and April 9, 2016, could suddenly lose pump performance from the brake hydraulic control unit. With a loss of pump performance, drivers would be without just about every electronic nanny – "electronic stability control and related systems including roll stability control, anti-lock braking system, emergency brake assist, curve control, trailer sway control, traction control and hill start assist performance" could all fail without warning, Ford says. The company hasn't received any reports of deaths or injuries relating to the recalls. Ford will notify owners of the affected vehicles and ask them to report to their local dealer for free repairs.
  19. mrtn, it would have been better if you did not reply to jrm223. Now jrm223 needs to reply to you! I am asking that this does not get out of control, so will both of you just let this string stop here. Thanks.
  20. jrm223, please dial back a notch on the intensity of your replies. We are are here to exchange information and if we can, help each other. We cannot have attacks or insults among forum members. Thanks.
  21. Byron, did you import a passenger seat from Germany?? You must have really wanted/needed it. The shipping cost had to be high.
  22. Nice mrtn. With the tank under the vehicle, you do not loose room in the Van, always an issue. Where are you going to mount the spare? Hang it on a bracket on one of the rear doors?
