  1. The Max trailer for the US version is 2000 Lbs with a hitch load of 200 Lbs. Even with the trailer load rating taken from the European Tourneo Connect which is 2640 with a hitch load rating of 260 Lbs The load you are talking about would be almost 600 Lbs over hung load. Even with Stiffer Springs or helper's the handling would change quite a bit. I would think long and hard about doing this.
  2. That's a great question, The other question is how well the unit is made, how long it lasts and how much fuel it would save. As for the intake I have not messed with that yet. The most effective mileage enhancer is keeping my ego out of my right foot.
  3. Sounds good , the lift contact area of the supplied scissor jack is very small so the seam and the rocker panel must be pretty strong. The jack is very unforgiving and if it does not meet the jack point right it will deform the channel. The biggest problem is mud and road salt and debris that gets past the fender liner and infiltrates and then rusts the rocker box compromises the rocker structure and then the jack collapses the box.
  4. The tax here is so much a gallon so the heaver your foot the more you pay. The big thing here was the grave damage to one's Green Credibility . As for the EPA it is more the rules are the rules!
  5. The Rocker seams at the arrows are reinforced to handle the Jack loads so if the Lift pad is centered on the arrow the seam will take the load until the internal rust weakens the rocker panel assembly. The Gen 2 also has a plastic rocker cover that will be damaged if the Jack pushes on it.
  6. Then it is Ok? Then no symptoms until the next start? Did the dealer have the symptoms happen with a scanner hooked up? What happens if when you turn the key on you cycle the Switch a second time to start it?
  7. When it is shaking are the Rpm's the same as after the accelerator is pressed and released? As the electronic throttle is taking the place of the IAC then the resting position for the throttle plate could be on the low side and could cause a low Idle How long will the shaking continue if you do nothing? Mine did the same thing once on a quick restart so I will have to pay attention.
  8. That good info, But here if the Map was changed from the factory map for the car then you have still crossed the line. It was a better joke here, because the whole remap is much hotter as a news story.
  9. I can"t speak for the Gen 1 but the rocker panel has arrows embosed in them for the rocker Panel lifting points on the Gen 2 Clear as a sunny day.
  10. What year TC? was the Trans new Rebuilt or used Sounds like the rev counter is not pluged in or has failed .
  11. When it shakes what are the RPM's, Just a wild guess, The Idle air control is too low and when you have your foot on the brake it is causing the computer to raise the idle. Stepping on the gas will do the same thing, once the revs are good it is happy. You might also check the, Spark plugs if they have not been changed. keep us posted.
  12. Hey I hear that VW is really good at remapping cars maybe they could do it
  13. It would, but you could also find some Rip stop tape in the correct color that would also do the job.
  14. The seat are fastened to the car at the front . There are two Torx bolts per foot on each seat. The LWB seat moves forward but is does not tip. http://fordtransitconnectforum.com/topic/4109-converted-2015-lwb-wagon-into-a-van/ This is a very good Thread on the seat subject
  15. I will check them out, The next size up from the Transit Connect is also very interesting and would be a good size here
  16. Well The Small van market in Europe is much better developed. I see a Fiesta van from Ford EU and a lot of the small vans available for you would be the shopping cart parking stalls in the mall here!
  17. 40 lbs is 90% so 90% of the tire load would be 1240 per tire. Now weigh the van and you will have your answer And Yes i am pleasantly surprised at the load rating of your tires
  18. Yes the Drivers Arm rest will have to go if the glove box arm rest is used.
  19. Ok but confusing people is fun You pick the title and we can carry on about disintegrating TC's
  20. True no Battleships, But E71TGS .035 wire will do a nice job up to 3/16 Thick on 110 to 120 amps , Very smooth and gives you a great second welding tool . You already have the hard part the welder.
