  1. How many miles on them and how many winters?
  2. On the stock headlights do you access the adjuster from the front or back of the lamp? Can't tell from the diagram I've seen.
  3. Does the bike rack tip the front end up at all? Gotta be about 200lbs there and as far back as the bikes go, some of the tongue weight is more rearward than directly on the ball as is normal. (more leverage) Hauling motorcycles with a hitch hauler that has to be spaced further back like this to clear the handlebars, we're told to cut the tongue weight rating in HALF. Though there ALL the weight is 18" back of the receiver. So my 700lb tongue rated Touareg is maxed out with my 320lb dual sport bike on back. Doesn't float the front at all, but you can tell you don't want any more load on the rear. FWIW Do the bikes bounce around much? I want to get a hauler for 2 bikes, but E bikes that weigh about 50-60lbs each, so probably comparable to what you've got there. Thanks
  4. If you read here there are numerous owners that have had to replace pads well early of 10,000 miles and some needing new rotors because the pads were already gone. Crazy bad or crazy bad drivers, not sure which. I see people every day whose brake light never goes off and I'm sure they're some of the folks posting about the sh*tty brakes on their new XX mobile. I'm at 3,000 miles and no noticeable brake dust buildup. I'm lightfooted braker, try to coast to close to a stop as much as possible without pissing people off. (other car a hybrid) How do you use them? I'm gonna have to watch for this apparently.
  5. Front drive car and rear sway replaced as well. Different beast. I've had 2 miata's, still miss the MSM with FM stuff. Looking at the ND's now, the old school "tuner car" mods from BBR is VERY interesting. As is the 250hp turbo (5-7psi boost!!)
  6. Wow, that taxi window would be perfect for some ventilation. Anyone know if you can buy those separately?
  7. WHat gets you an armrest? 16 XLT with none.
  8. Are you a salesman from Tire Rack. All Season tires are just fine for about 95% of the places (like here in the midwest) that get snow but not a lot and your community plows snow.
  9. Bunch of bs...... Got a problem with the weight rating of Focus wheels? BUY FUSION WHEELS. Duh... Oh, they weigh EXACTLY the same, if not more depending on the model. The TC weighs 3500lbs avg, that's a LIGHT vehicle in todays markey. Since you insist on posting the LOADED limit that I"ve already explained I will never use, It seems mostly like you like being a negative nay saying know it all. As the TC comes with up to 17" wheels, 18" is +1, ridiculous to say that there will be a problem with that. Sounds like your daughter should avoid some of those endless deadly potholes you seem to have everywhere. as for your lame sizing argument, just look at any car that's been for sale for 20+ years. They used to come with 15" wheels standard, even pickup trucks. NOW many of those same vehicles come with 18" standard and go up to 20 or even 22". Fact is, you don't know what the hell you are talking about and you just like screaming "FIRE!!!!" Thanks for nothing, done here......
  10. Just reset the trip odometer and use the calculater on your phone to divide the miles driven by the amount of gas pumped. The computer estimates high of course. I can't imagine how you'd have to drive (floor it off every stop?) to only get 12 or 13mph out of this vehicle.
  11. This is very cool as I plan on this upgrade soon. THanks! I've thought about the interior panels as well, but you know they'll be expensive. And paying to put them back after they took them out just seems silly.
  12. I have a brand new leftover 16 2.5 lwb with 2200 miles, so not broken in. I weight 230lbs and I've averaged 25.5-26.75mpg on each tank of reg octane fuel, mostly city. The computer reads about 1 to 1.5mpg high.
  13. Well I'll be danged if there it the lever to drop the passenger seat forward! LOL And my 11.5' paddleboard fits in my TC but not in gf's Odessey!
  14. The tool is nice but you don't need it to take the clips out. The round center needs to get pulled UP, out of the round whole piece. There is a hole "drilled" through the center of that center piece, stick a small screwdriver or pick into one end of the hole, push it in a bit and then pull up gently, once the center piece slides up, the whole clip is loose and easily removed. To replace set it in and push the center round piece down to expand and lock the clip in place. Works like a wall anchor in drywall basically, expanding and locking as the center is pushed down. Nobody needs to break these.
  15. My 16 has the nice flat plastic back on the passenger seat but I can't find any way to fold it forward.
  16. Taller compared to the rubber bands you see on some cars where they've gone too big with the wheels. Those are HARDLY that. And these are light vehicles. Unless you looked up his specific tire you are using generic diatmeter specs that can in fact change dramatically from tire line to tire line within a manufacturers product lines, much less among manufacturers. Not hard to find .5" diameter difference in the "Same size" tires among the choices. With motorcycles you can look at lower or raise seat height a little by choosing a tire with a different diameter, all while keeping the same size tire. I get your paranoia with bigger wheels, but you're overstating the problems. Lots of us have been upsizing for decades and we're still here and have never broken a wheel or flattened at tire on a pothole. You would be correct if we were talking about putting 20's on this vehicle, but nobody is. You mention that as you're older and drive easier that your transmission and brakes last longer. My TC is a delivery vehicle in (slow speed) city use over mostly pretty good streets. When there potholes, I steer around them. Or brake to slow down. Think how much abuse your wheels take (or don't) is any different than your tranny/brakes when you driver easy?
  17. I stock supplies from our store from Sams Club or Costco 3 times a week. Get caught in the rain enough that I've enjoyed the hatch of my previous mini van while loading. Figured I wanted that in my TC but got the best deal (screaming deal) on one with barn doors and despite what some think you get used to them very quickly. Yes it's an obstruction but it's right in the middle, so it never blocks anything completely, you can always see anything you need to see. And there are some perks. One nice one is that when on the road at night it's easy to block one of a following cars headlights and WHO KNEW that makes a really big difference in comfort, at least for me. Where 2 headlights are distracting and even annoying, 1 just doesn't seem to be really at all. Its' interesting. The doors are also very light and easy to open relative to swinging a hatch up. I would have chosen the hatch but it's barely even worth mentioning as a purchase factor imo.
  18. It's old school "pull bolt and see if oil is up to the hole" under the car behind the front half shafts on the drivers side. Under the soft belly pan so easiest to do it when you change oil.
  19. anyone know what it costs to purchase the upper mounts and floor hooks? I'd like to have one of those.
  20. I'm researching head units right now to put into my 2016. Guessing plenty of others have swapped out new/like new stockers as well. Can't imagine they go for much.
  21. I quite clearly asked if the 215/45/18 was the same diameter as stock and then asked if going up "SLIGHTLY TALLER" would be a problem. Geezzz.........
  22. Thanks. I guess i should have clarified. I'll be swapping in a double din touch screen to add a back up camera and the bluetooth I don't have currently. I'll also be swapping out the stock front (component) speakers. NOT looking for "jammin sound", sub, amps, etc This is my work delivery vehicle so just good enough sound is fine. Stocker setup isn't awful to my ears but I really want the back up camera and to display cell phone nav on the display.
  23. The bulbs aren't available on Amazon anymore. I find the brights just fine, can you replace the low beams with LED and leave the highs alone or have to replace both? (assuming there are other options in LED's now)
