Nobody knows and Forscan appears to only show IPC mileage. Many believe the PCM stores mileage and it is only accessible by official Ford software.
-
Make a note of the miles you added on the new cluster. When you set the mileage add the extra miles to value from the original cluster . The vehicle mileage is stored in multiple places and you want everything to match.

Forscan is easy to use but it takes some time to understand error codes and real time data. See for yourself at forscan.org.

The "blank" welcome screen is not a mistake or missing data. Watch this video from a 2014 Fusion. The only difference is the TC blank screen will stay illuminated until the welcome display times out (about 25 seconds) or the key is turned. 2014 Ford Fusion dashboard gauges video screen - Bing video Plus the blue tone screen was the stock screen on Focus around 2014.

Like almost every other problem with modern vehicles, you need a scan tool to diagnose this. A good scanner will show if there are any temperatures or other parameters (PIDs) that are reading out of spec that are causing the system to turn on the fan. The scanner will also show all error codes, DTCs (not just the check engine light) A little research is required to see what causes the fan to turn on and what would also prohibit the operation of the AC. Getting data is easy but understanding what it says is not. For less than $100 you can get an OBD Ex converter and run Forscan on a PC (or your phone) to monitor any parameter in the vehicle. Otherwise you may have to take it to a shop that has the tools and experience.

When the compass is deleted with: 720-03-01 xxxx xx1x the display will show --- next to the odometer.

After much research and testing, I found the answer to this question. The color cluster was never offered on anything except the Titanium trim levels in 2014-2017 (also rare in non-Ti 2018). Titanium trim includes SYNC3. A color cluster appears to get some information from the SYNC3 system that involves the cluster information screen. When a color cluster is installed in a non-SYNC3 vehicle, this information is missing and it causes the information screen to display in blue tones. The color cluster information screen was designed to have a black background and border. Blue-tone Black background and border I found a setting in the IPC that affects the cluster information screen. The good news is we can change the setting to get the black background information screen. The bad news is this setting removes some information used by the cluster to display the “welcome” screen and Ford logo. The new setting creates a blank screen when there should be an animated blue-box welcome screen followed by the Ford logo. The welcome screen only appears when you first enter the vehicle. Once you turn the key, the black background screen appears. Welcome screen Ford logo Here are the screens from the new setting: Welcome screen and no Ford logo Normal display when driving If you want the black background screen, change the following in the IPC 720-03-01 xxxx 7xxx (keep all numbers the same and just insert a 7 in the noted location) For example, 720-03-01 in my IPC was: 2901 6004 and I changed it to 2901 7004. I also noted one of the settings affected the compass display on the information screen. 720-03-01 xxxx xxXx X=0 compass is displayed X=1 compass is not displayed

Parking Aid Module (PAM) Problems - 2015 Cargo XLT
Don Ridley replied to windguy's topic in Backup Sensor
The manual has instructions on removing the headliner but I would try to loosen the headliner around the speaker and carefully pull it down for access. Let me know if this doesn't work and I will find the headliner removal instructions. -
Parking Aid Module (PAM) Problems - 2015 Cargo XLT
Don Ridley replied to windguy's topic in Backup Sensor
The rear speaker is in the headliner unfortunately. The front speaker is behind the triangular "door" on the side of the dashboard next to the headlight switch. I think your troubleshooting clearly shows the speaker is bad. At least the speaker is under $20. parking speaker.pdf -
Have your friend scan and plot the relevant signals as your drive around. Note when the shudder occurs and view the plots. It may be something electrical and seemingly unrelated to fuel delivery.

Here are some wiring diagrams. Your ACM needs to have the ICAN network wires and the 4" screen (FCDIM) to read the steering wheel signals. The attached wiring diagrams show ACM configurations with and without the ICAN wires. If you ACM is the base unit without the FCDIM it's not possible to activate the steering wheel controls. Here's a portion of what I found on car-part.com. You have to call these junkyards directly and shipping is not included. ACM network.pdf ACM wiring diagrams (2020_07_16 14_49_21 UTC).pdf

1. A 2014-2018 steering wheel should work. But there are many 2017s available and I would choose one just to be sure. Check car-part.com. Leather wheels are around $125 and non-leather are about $75. 2. I have done some configuration of the stock head unit (ACM) and there are some settings that may need to be changed to use the controls on the steering wheel. These changes are easily made with Forscan but you may need to do a little research (this is easy to do). There is a good chance it all works assuming the wiring harness is there. You can check the ACM wiring to see if the steering wheel signals are wired to the unit. 3. Forscan.....this is messy now. The developer is a person or group in Russia. They had to suspend purchase of an "extended license" that allows changes like activating cruise control. There has always been a free extended license that is good for two months but forum users are reporting a delay in Forscan issuing the licenses. Things may get worse as Putiin continues his terrible war. It is unlikely a dealer will or can make the configuration changes to activate cruise control. Their software is designed to restore programming that already existed in a vehicle.

2019 Transit Connect XL Camper / Moto Van
Don Ridley replied to money_bagski's topic in Transit Connect Member Custom Builds
I don't think any of the 2.5L engines have a battery monitoring system. I you have a small wire connected to the negative terminal on your battery, then you have a BMS. This wire and small module on it measures the current going in or out of the battery. BMS would be problematic for adding house batteries because it calculates the battery health and tries to hold the state of charge to 80% maximum. If you don't have a battery charger, you should get one. You can get a 3 or 5 amp trickle-type charger for under $100. I use a Noco Genius.- 38 replies

You should verify there is no APIM by pulling the configuration for all of the modules for your vehicle. Use the Motorcraft website: Index - FordServiceInfo.Com (motorcraftservice.com) Use the link and input the country. Once you are in the website, exit and return using the address (not the link). This should give you a page where you input the VIN. The site will show all the configurations for your vehicle. Look for any addresses that start with 7D0. These are for an APIM. Here is what my VIN shows: If there are no 7DO addresses, you don't have an APIM. When shopping for an ACM (head unit) the last two digits the part number do not have to be identical (DT1T-19C107-AD): AD in your example. Every year the part number increments so AE, AF etc are for subsequent years. All the units should operate the same (AD, AE AF) as long as the first set of part numbers are the same. A suffix of CB-CE is for an HD radio. There is a possibility the used ACM will have some settings that may not work in your vehicle (number of speakers, steering wheel controls, MP3 input, country code etc). This can be fixed by loading the settings (like the ones shown above) from your ACM into the new ACM. You will need an adapter (about $40) and Forscan if this is the case. But I am 90% sure a basic ACM will have basic settings and it should be plug and play even if some of the settings are not exactly the same. If you need help, you can PM your VIN to me and I can look for the 7DO settings. I looked at car-part.com and there a numerous units available. You need to call most of these junkyards and you can make an offer if you want to lower the price. eBay and LKQ did not seem to have any when I looked.

Just confirm your existing pads, rotors, shoes and drums are in good shape. Replace the worn parts as needed. "Upgraded" rotors won't work any better. The only way to get more braking power is with larger rotors and upgraded calipers like you would see on high performance vehicles (Focus brakes vs Focus RS for example). The only real change you can expect is by changing the brake pad material, but for 99% of users even that makes no real performance difference. Harder metallic pads will last longer but they shorten the lifetime of the rotor. Drive with the trailer for a season and you will see if any changes are warranted.

It could be the radio (ACM) or the signal to turn it off. You will need a scan tool ( like Forscan) to read all the associated signals on the network to see what is happening. Troubleshooting this could get complicated.

Parking Aid Module (PAM) Problems - 2015 Cargo XLT
Don Ridley replied to windguy's topic in Backup Sensor
There should be PIDs for each parking sensor. Maybe start by checking them. The sensor status should change when it senses an object within range. -
Parking Aid Module (PAM) Problems - 2015 Cargo XLT
Don Ridley replied to windguy's topic in Backup Sensor
Here is the wiring diagram for the PAM. Disconnect the connectors and test the resistance of both speakers. I don't know the exact value but they both should be the same (I'm guessing around 8 ohm). This should help diagnose if the speakers are bad. Next step would be to test the sensors somehow. Replacing the module should be straight forward. You can buy a used one from a junkyard. I don't know if they need to be programmed but I doubt it. I don't have a PAM so I can't check my configuration. You can look at the PAM as-built data with Forscan and an extended license. I'm sure this can be fixed without having to go to a dealership. PAM wiring diagram.pdf
