    Nice Ranchero ! A 300Hp Crate motor would be cheaper for her and make that rig plenty scary . if you get the Chinese jack that the Chinese would work under it most likely be ok. The Crappy Jacks that would kill you were imported for sale by an American sales man!

    The plastic grid between the wipers covers the cowl vent if the water path gets blocked for any reason then the water will flood into the heater air intake and end up in the passenger foot well.

    Not sure of the wire gauge, but if you check other posts in the 14-14 vents have been installed and some one made a plastic vent base to deal with the roof ribs.

    If you have a heavy trailer you might use the S mode to keep the TC from going into 6 gear.

    If you go to the wix website you can find all the relevant filter cross reference information , size, thread size , gasket dimensions . anti drain-back info, and bypass valve pressure . This is the way I get under my TC

    This gearbox has a shift learning process, if you have access to a good scanner you can reset the shift relearn settings and the trans will relearn the shifts.

    The Shift quality of my TC has been and remains very good . I Think that the Oil companies that make the fluid are able to match the Oem speck very well. I also suspect that they are already making the Oem fluid. If the oil company wants to make a quality fluid they can. The fill for Life part is Crap. The thermostat in this gear box holds the temp at about 175 for operational reasons. This trans works the fluid hard and so do I. 6000 miles into the third flush, the vote is still out will report back later.

    if it got broken once it could get broken again , you will not feel as bad if one that costs 1/2 gets broken!

    I just went too the web site and would be interested to see how the deluxe edition and the hyperlinks work. The reg edition is very useful and has a good index . I have a printer so if i am working on something I print the diagram.

    At the web site when you purchase the manual you put in your Vin, the download is specific to your TC

    if you add hills and mountains it will take 3-4 off the 30 mpg. Right now it is 15 degrees and that will knock another 1 mpg off the 30mpg

    I am spoiled by having a lift so the Pan will stay. One thing I can say it does keep some of the slush out of the engine bay on heavy snow drives.

    If the Transmission fluid is rated to the OEM Ford LV Spec by a good manufacture then it will give good service. Again good universal antifreeze is formulated to protect older engines and also the newer extended life antifreeze engines. It cost a little more than the single purpose antifreeze's , a small penalty with a great up side.. The up side it makes the jug you happen to have when your car needs coolant the right jug !!

    My interest in the Diesel is academic. I just wanted to see how the car runs and feels.

    I have had that issue on other vehicles , My TC has Alloy's. The wheel covers work themselves off when the rim flexes. My Travel trailer spins lots of covers off in my travels. If you get the closed lug nuts to keep the wheel studs from rusting then you can go with out covers.

    Well I will be in trouble if that is true because I have used Castrol , Super Tech , Motor Craft, and several others in the ten plus oil changes on My TC. I will try and find the post about the service manual down load . It is priced around $ 60.00 and is very comprehensive .
