  1. If you are looking to put the seats in the way back these are the ones that you want.
  2. The Shift quality of my TC has been and remains very good . I Think that the Oil companies that make the fluid are able to match the Oem speck very well. I also suspect that they are already making the Oem fluid. If the oil company wants to make a quality fluid they can. The fill for Life part is Crap. The thermostat in this gear box holds the temp at about 175 for operational reasons. This trans works the fluid hard and so do I. 6000 miles into the third flush, the vote is still out will report back later.
  3. if it got broken once it could get broken again , you will not feel as bad if one that costs 1/2 gets broken!
  4. I just went too the web site and would be interested to see how the deluxe edition and the hyperlinks work. The reg edition is very useful and has a good index . I have a printer so if i am working on something I print the diagram.
  5. At the web site when you purchase the manual you put in your Vin, the download is specific to your TC
  6. if you add hills and mountains it will take 3-4 off the 30 mpg. Right now it is 15 degrees and that will knock another 1 mpg off the 30mpg
  7. I am spoiled by having a lift so the Pan will stay. One thing I can say it does keep some of the slush out of the engine bay on heavy snow drives.
  8. If the Transmission fluid is rated to the OEM Ford LV Spec by a good manufacture then it will give good service. Again good universal antifreeze is formulated to protect older engines and also the newer extended life antifreeze engines. It cost a little more than the single purpose antifreeze's , a small penalty with a great up side.. The up side it makes the jug you happen to have when your car needs coolant the right jug !!
  9. Here is the Web site for the Manual. The price is 69 for the pdf, and 129 for the version that has active hyperlinks. https://www.factory-manuals.com/expand-ford-transit-connect-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-factory-repair-manual-344.html
  10. My interest in the Diesel is academic. I just wanted to see how the car runs and feels.
  11. I have had that issue on other vehicles , My TC has Alloy's. The wheel covers work themselves off when the rim flexes. My Travel trailer spins lots of covers off in my travels. If you get the closed lug nuts to keep the wheel studs from rusting then you can go with out covers.
  12. Well I will be in trouble if that is true because I have used Castrol , Super Tech , Motor Craft, and several others in the ten plus oil changes on My TC. I will try and find the post about the service manual down load . It is priced around $ 60.00 and is very comprehensive .
  13. I have been looking but I have not seen any dealers advertise one in stock to go and see. I want to do a test drive.
  14. All the Gears in that Transmission have synchros. The one going into first works hard if the driver is impatient and makes the syncrhro change the shaft speed. A new clutch and matching the engine and transmission speed carefully will allow the useful life to be extended to almost unlimited mileage.
  15. The newer cars use the engine oil for more than lubrication. The oil is the actuation fluid for the Cam timers, changing the viscosity can cause a malfunction in the engine operation. Motor oil that meets the API certifications will not hurt the engine if you match the specs in the manual. Valvoline, Napa, Super Tech, Pennzoil Mobil 1 and most others will meet the Ford spec.
  16. The parts rebuilding has changed to mostly replacement because the Manufacturing process is so advanced . The other thing is Rebuilt is not new, if the cost is the same then it should be new.
  17. I use a scan tool, the trans runs around 175 degrees. It hold this on a reasonably flat highway, even pulling a trailer.
  18. I Won't be near my service manual till the weekend will post a picture then. I Think the Transmission cooler is on a thermostat so some of the fluid will be mixed any way.
  19. That depends on how annoying the lack of syncro is for you?
  20. When I change the oil on all of my vehicles I open the filters up with a filter cutter to drain them and recycle them. The motorcraft ,napa, purolator , super tech, are all better than the fram. All oil filter's have a bypass to protect the engine in case of filter plugging, cold starts and sudden full throttle operation.
  21. Neat! No chance of a picture of the failed part?
  22. My long term highway average is 25.5. It drops in the winter and depending on the load. City Driving could lower it to under 20.
