  1. The module definitely is hooked to the computer. Interesting idea any way.
  2. There are some things that you should have to purchase and a new sock for the fuel pump is one of them. Another one is the gasket that goes with the Thermostat.
  3. If the dealer does it they could use the same inferior shoes, Just replacing the shoes if every thing else is good should not be a lot of money.
  4. Ok it could be the brake lining material . If you knew the brand of the shoes you could find a different brand. Another Idea is to go to support at a brake lining manufacture and see if they have run into your issue. keep us in the loop, can't wait for the answer.
  5. This TC has a diesel engine so the Ignition issues would not apply. It sounds like an interesting issue I wish we had the answer.
  6. If the tire size is the same and you have the proper load range it does not matter, the tires will work.
  7. You need to pull the drums and check what is really going on. It could be the TSB, but it could also be the brakes are warn out.
  8. Nice , I am not sure that I will see them any time soon on my route.
  9. The fact that you are in the south will limit your snow exposure but if you find your self in Muddy conditions the traction control will still get in the way!
  10. When you use the steering wheel control you should be able to turn the Traction control off. If you have succeeded there will be a light in the display that lets you know it is off. Then it will act like a regular front wheel drive. You will have to reset the trac off everytime the ignition is cycled. The TC is not the best vehicle for wet traction but it is adequate. Your task is made harder because you are coming into it from a Subaru which is a leader in good traction.
  11. Good report, If you haven't changed the filter in a long time the fan could be full of dirt, mine collects a lot of dirt and needs to be cleaned out from time to time.
  12. Living in US I do not have first hand experience of your TC Model. I will hazard a guess the hoses for the turbo to inter cooler were most likely moved for the Half shaft work if you have a bulging hose there is a restriction. Check there first keep us in the loop
  13. I think the issues could be the TC 's is capable of carrying much more weight . This could lead to much more stress on the gear box. If you are reasonable with the demands and good maintenance is done the transmission will give adequate service
  14. The bias of the automotive cruise control it to keep the speed exact. If you were in a large truck and had cruse control, the amount of speed droop is adjustable. The PCM is designed to keep the emissions within the mandated range regardless of RPM.
  15. I think it is not the computer but the programer or algorithm. I think more of the people who write the algorithm's should actually drive the cars.
  16. Take it to the dealer right away and make them fix it!!
  17. When you get close we can set up a meeting spot
  18. I agree with you , nothing intuitive there, commiting it to memory is the only way The real solution is a large button Saying Trac Off!
  19. Find some one with a TPMS tool and they can tell instantly which sensor is not working and why . As for the retraining if you bring it to my shop I will retrain the sensors NC!
  20. Its at the end of my list . The only issue is the list is very long!
  21. The Fuel tank would also need to be moved and the Torque tube rear Axle would also need to be redesigned to accommodate the differential and half-shafts.
  22. use the steering wheel control and go to settings and scroll till you find the Traction Control and switch it off, get use to doing it because it resets when the Ignition switch is cycled. It makes the TC a good not great snow car regardless of the tires
  23. Go to ford.com and download a manual for your TC and you will have all the stats you need. I would say that the Transmission is not going into 4 th gear. The Gen 1 I drove but did not buy had to be revved up to perform but it definitely had longer legs that the one you have. Keep us posted on what happens.
