  1. When this happened to me the best way I found was to pull the positive battery cable and leave it off for at least 10 minutes . Then hook it up, it should return to normal . Hope it works . Kee us posted.
  2. Here is the post I did on the trans fluid change It takes about 12 qts to get the fluid clean, 15 if you are nervous.
  3. 97350, The fourth transmission fluid change. The fluid condition was much better then the previous drains. I refilled with Triax again so will up date in 25000 miles! I have the same fluid in a Chev 3500 1ton with and Allison that takes Dextron VI, it seems to be holding up well there also.
  4. Ha Ha up here by the time they need to be turned it is time to place them in the dumpster!
  5. Do you do take out? just finished the service on the TC, Now on to the next project while Sheltering in place.
  6. Welcome to the club, On the third set of rotors on the rear and the second set on the front. I have found some raybestos brand rotors that are coated to help with the corrosion. Time will tell how they hold up. Winter salt, Calcium Chloride on the dirt roads to keep the dust down , it is hard on the machine around here.
  7. Do you have a picture of the inside of the piece?
  8. The clamping load for a grade 5 bolt is 9046 lbs per bolt and a grade 8 bolt is 12771 lbs . If something fails on the hitch when you use it for a jack point it won't be the bolts. https://www.fastenal.com/content/feds/pdf/Torque-Tension Chart for A307 Gr5 Gr8 Gr9.pdf
  9. Aluminium or Steel? If it were to extend to a full circle what would the diameter be?
  10. I have done mine at 25000 intervals. Lv for the first , Valvoline for the second and Triax for the third change. The first two looked to be in about the same condition. The fourth change will be this week I will up date the on the Triax condition. I will say the transmission shifts as well as ever.
  11. I hope the lug nuts do the trick , it is a great Idea. The wheel studs being built into the Hub and not replaceable is complete Rubbish . I Checked out the hubs on both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 and they are like every other hub in the industry , pressed in studs and fully replaceable. You need to find a better parts store if studs are needed.
  12. Not sure what tools you have . An Air hammer make the job easier ,but a stout hammer and a brass drift will be fine. Get several good nuts , not the lug nuts to pull the studs in , make sure to lubricate the threads. What is your shops rate? It could be a good deal in the end. Keep us posted.
  13. The studs are a good idea . 5/8" is close have you tried one and put a torque wrench on it ?
  14. What is the total depth of the lug nut and how far did it thread into the lug nut on the Alloy?
  15. You can measure the stick out of the stud from the steel wheel and then do the same for the alloy wheel and see what the difference is . You can also put the steel wheel on and count the turns before the nut contacts the taper, and then do it for the alloy. If you do have to change the studs any good auto parts can find new longer studs that will fit.
  16. You need to put pressure on the cooling system when the engine is cold so you can move what is around the EGR valve and then you will see where the coolant is leaking.
  17. Sounds Promising . Update as needed.
  18. If the engine runs well and does not start after it sits for a while is an indication of an air leak some where in the supply line from the tank and the primary filter. if there is a leak between the lift pump and the high pressure pump then you should see a fuel leak. Keep posting, can you get a photo of the supply fuel set up?
  19. If you open the bleed fitting and turn on the pump do you get fuel out of the fitting? Sounds like a different mechanic is needed. The fact that it is a diesel means there is an ocean between you and me so i am only able to offer moral support.
  20. Did the van have trouble before the New filter? If not then it must have started at that filter?
  21. We are way past the money in most of the car projects!!
