The headlight clusters are not designed for p'n'p HID or LED (HID projectors are not reflector dependent, just need a clear lens). The best legal and cheap option is to get a set of Osram Nightbreakers and be done with it. The factory halogens are yellowish and I'm going to replace them when it gets darker. I had WS70 for one winter, too soft for me. Really mushy handling. So right now I have the following (usually swap late November and back in March): TC 2012: Kumho WinterCraft WI31 studdable, I run them without. Toyota: Kumho I'ZEN KW22 studded. Both within acceptable handling and wear limits. No winter tires for my Ecoboost yet. PS: Nokian is Finnish.

The 2" down is some kind of vent feature. Had it in my Mazda. It took 30 seconds to disable it by the instructions in the manual. Check yours.

Something's wrong here. DRL should not turn on the dashboard lights, that's how you notice the actual lights being off. And are you sure the DRL runs low beam? It's a dim high beam in mine.

Been driving windowless cargo vans for the past 10 years now. If you really need more than wing mirrors you can get a rear view camera and have it on all the time. Perhaps even connected to a dash cam, somoeone here had done it. They're really cheap now.
