1.6 Ecoboost van, 90% ready to pull the trigger
mrtn replied to mrtn's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Out fuel prices as of today: €1.1/L (€4.20/US al) gasoline (was €1.8 a few years back when the oil prices were up), €0.50 LPG. We have just gotten a socialist government and they have announced a new propane tax. -

Yes! Most of your questions have been answered in this thread. Refueling takes about the same time as filling up with gasoline in the first speed - a couple of minutes. -
I think these are 16", not sure if available in the US:

They should offer an AWD option, took a long round trip in rather lousy conditions. -
Rear Doors Don't Close Correctly Causing Trunk Open Message

My right door stays a mm or two ajar if not slammed shut. Doesn't notify tho so the sensor is not triggered. -
Not necessarily, depending on the location of the heater element, convection should take care of the circulation. If there's even a little room for the hot fluid to rise up then the circulation is natural and autonomous.

No, you need to check the contacts if there's a difference in "0" and "ACC" positions. If there's live contact and power drain through the barrel in "0" then it's broken. Adding a deep cycle battery will not help you. The leak/drain needs to be addressed, it may be a shorted or bad contact/relay or something which may heat or burn in the worst case. Check the manual for fuse box relays which are related to cabin lights and other weird things you are experiencing. May be something as simple as this.
-
My 1st guess would have been a dodgy ignition barrel leaving you in ACC position internally but you have checked that already. The relay timer should switch off the lights at least. The dash cluster LCD may remain on (unlit) for a long time but that's not a problem, it consumes as much as a wrist watch. Power points are always live. Radio should be off.

The aftermarket one I looked at sits at the top of the cooling system. Soft attachments only, no major disassemly. Local Ford dealer also offers the same one for the 1.6 EB.

I have seen a few without side doors but mostly these plain panel units are just cargo variants with a single side door on the curb side. No brakes needed up to 750 kg (1650 lbs) gross weight trailers. Happy to you too.

Most American trucks are bought for showing off over here. It's especially nice to see someone hauling a dino lift or a flatbed trailer with bricks around. I was once sent to pick up a dino lift with my old TC. I specifically asked if it's small enough. "Oh yes, it can be towed with a sedan". I arrived at the rental place and just hooked it up to prove a point before calling in a full size van.

Most insurance packages here include windshield replacement for free (in case it was caused by road debris).

Makes sense, really, it's almost the same size as the smallest full size Transit.
-
Transit Custom is truck based, about the size of VW Transporter (a notch below full size Transit) with all the little inconveniences that come with such a platform.
-
Figures. Winter tires are mandatory here, so I know the situation.

Nice. make sure to fix the name, it's Transit Connect, not Transit.
-
No doubt.

PPK possibly, nothing larger. Then again, the compartment is too far to react quick enough and requires one hand to hold it open and the other to grab the gun, You might want the holster in the door pocket.

Mine's in the middle of the head unit but it's not Sync.

I stand corrected: Mk1 coat hook was integrated to the seatbelt mount. Not in the new one.
