  1. Here are the details on installing the electric liftgate. The Autoease product is well made. Hopefully my documentation will help. The only problem with this product/project is the Autoease device that provides the final close/latch motion is not easy to install on a TC. I did not install this movable strike plate and motor. The liftgate closes but if all windows and other doors are closed, the increase in air pressure keeps the liftgate from fully latching. I need to lightly push the door closed at the end of the arc. This is not a deal breaker for me since the biggest problem with the stock liftgate was unlatching it, then having to step back so it didn't hit you. Then, closing required a big tug and you had to "ride it" all the way down to make sure it latched. Now I can start the opening sequence as I walk up to the vehicle. Closing is not a big problem because you can start the sequence, then open the front door and wait for it to latch before you drive away. Art worst, you need to wait for the motor to close it and provide a light push just before it latches. See the attached install and operating instructions. Contact me if you have any questions. 2. As GBL said, you need a scan tool to troubleshoot problems like this. The cheap option is using an adapter and the free software Forscan. Scan tools can reset modules and read trouble codes (not just check engine light codes).
  3. Is that light from a newer TC? What year? Maybe it communicates on the CanBus to control the lights.
  4. The heated windshield has a grid of very small wires across the entire windshield. You can see it if you look closely. It was an option on my XLT. At first the grid bugged me but I got used to it. It clears the windshield in less than 2 minutes. The heater does not stay on very long so the windshield does not get hot. It will not affect suction cups or stickers.
  5. The gas struts are applying very strong pressure even when the door is closed. If they don't wiggle or rattle when the door is open they are probably not the issue.
  6. HD radio update: The HD radio works but the small display is not programmed to display the HD radio status. I learned that some stations have HD 1 and HD 2 stations on the same frequency. I tuned to one station, 94.7 and got the normal station in HD. Then I pressed the + tuner button once. It switched to a new station but the display still shows 94.7. This must be the HD 2 station. I stored both and can navigate to them with the presets. So it is possible to tune to the secondary HD stations. But you need to know they exist because they don't always tune in immediately and it takes several tries to initially acquire them.
  7. Forscan has a learning curve. Read this tutorial and see if you are connecting properly. You need to get an extended license from. Forscan to make these changes. This is explained on the Forscan website. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-8dKaS_Spu4Zw4hV_CrKC4tLoP9G8yejqegF1wxIqxY/mobilebasic
  8. There are posts about upgrading the stereo system. You should find wiring and installation info with some searching. An external amp will use speaker level inputs because the head of unit does not have pre amp outputs.
  9. 7ma is not a problem. Your battery will not be affected by this.
  10. Here's some possible power sources near the overhead shelf. GPS module is a good candidate. connectors.pdf gps module.pdf
  11. The installation was not easy and I need to work on some bugs with the manufacturer. Once everything is resolved I will post more details. liftgate 2-2.mp4
  12. 2.5L or 1.6L Ecoboost? SWB is not uncommon but the Ecoboost is (only available in SWB through 2016).
  13. Here is the wiring diagram for a 2016 without door modules. You should be able to put a switch in parallel with the door latch switch (similar to modification on the door module version). Locating the switch and wires may be a challenge. int lights_no module.pdf
  14. It's possible your TC does not have door modules. Mine is an xlt trim. If you have a lower trim model it may not have the modules.
  15. It's behind the door panel on the driver's door, near the interior door handle. You have to remove the door panel to access it.
  16. Some of the photo links are broken. Here's one of the missing photos
  17. The radio and CD player are one unit. Looks similar to this.
  18. I think Bluetooth will function without the radio head unit (ACM). Bluetooth is handled by a separate module. Bluetooth, USB etc are handled by a separate module. Maybe someone who has replaced their ACM can verify.
  19. There are several main computer modules. The Body Control Module BCM and Power Control Module are the main ones. You must load any module with firmware and a configuration file specific to your VIN. Your only hope to avoid the dealer is to find a used module from a vehicle that is virtually identical. But there is a possibility this may not work either.
  20. LOL! The CD player is part of the radio head unit called the audio control module ACM. Pop the plastic cover above the ACM off the ACM by pulling it straight toward you. It's a struggle. Remove the plastic around the ACM the same way. The ACM is secured by a couple of screws.
  21. I have been monitoring the charge voltage since I installed the AGM battery and disabled the BMS. The power control module appears to adjust the voltage based on the battery temperature and charge current. Max voltage has been 15.1 after start-up with 40 degree battery temp. The voltage is high at this phase even when the charge current is low. As the battery warms up the voltage slowly drops. I think the lowest charge voltage has been 13.9. This only happens after driving for about 30 minutes. It will be interesting to see what happens when it's 100 degrees. I don't know if theses voltages are ideal for an AGM. I will find out in a couple of years. But like Beta Don said, I want more cycling capacity. But in the end, it's just another lead acid battery that will fail eventually.
  22. Yes, the 48 series batteries are taller than the OEM battery. It was easy to bend the ears on the battery clamp to adjust for this height difference...at least for the Odyssey 48 AGM. The battery box and cover are large enough for the 48 series batteries.
