Here is a link to some prices and a rebuild company https://www.transmissionrepaircostguide.com/4f27e/. The transmission in your TC is a 4F27E Transmission Transmission Street Smart Transmission Autozone Advance Auto Parts Dealer Retail 4F27E 1440 1630 1749 2637

267000 miles , with all that you have done a compression test is next. If the readings are near normal for all cyl then the valve springs are suspect. If no 2 is low and the result does not change with a wet test then the valves need refreshing at the least. Keep us posted

Vibration of rear drum brakes with warm weather.
G B L replied to PTRWorkVan's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Do you have a picture of the brake assembly with the drum removed ? Finding a shop with arc grinding equipment and someone still willing to use it is a task. If you have new shoes and new drums you should be able to get this right without grinding the shoes. -
has the engine and wiring been reinstalled? If so have you hooked up the battery?

How the heck do you jack one of these things up?

The information from Ford is strategically vague in a lot of areas! -
Maybe the should!

Hey we are all locked down what else do we have to do?
-
Which TC are we talking about?
-
When they do get it and die All their friends will say they are in a better place!! We as a country have never been good at following timely warnings. We like Hurricane parties. Remember Dan Rather being strapped to a pole . Some you may not be old enough for that to make sense . Semi retired here The work I do will either done later this year or postponed till next year. I only have 45 years of projects on my list at the moment, so I guess it is a good time to start.
-
We here in the states never had a Standard transmission version over here. mrtn would have more info. If you could get the line ticket for your serial no it might have the information you need. Let us know what you find out.
-
Wow . Ford never was the best at planning for wear item replacement.

The plastic coating is to allow assembly with out grease. The downside is it makes the assembly harder. Quite the project what was the purpose of dropping the sub frame?

Your TC is 7 years old checking the refrigerant charge is a very good idea. If you get the right R 134 refill kit it will come with a low pressure gauge will give some idea of the refrigerant level in the system https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Synthetic-Conditioning-Refrigerant-Dispenser/dp/B007USCM7E?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2

When this happened to me the best way I found was to pull the positive battery cable and leave it off for at least 10 minutes . Then hook it up, it should return to normal . Hope it works . Kee us posted.

Here is the post I did on the trans fluid change It takes about 12 qts to get the fluid clean, 15 if you are nervous.
-
97350, The fourth transmission fluid change. The fluid condition was much better then the previous drains. I refilled with Triax again so will up date in 25000 miles! I have the same fluid in a Chev 3500 1ton with and Allison that takes Dextron VI, it seems to be holding up well there also.

Do you do take out? just finished the service on the TC, Now on to the next project while Sheltering in place.

Welcome to the club, On the third set of rotors on the rear and the second set on the front. I have found some raybestos brand rotors that are coated to help with the corrosion. Time will tell how they hold up. Winter salt, Calcium Chloride on the dirt roads to keep the dust down , it is hard on the machine around here.

Do you have a picture of the inside of the piece?

The clamping load for a grade 5 bolt is 9046 lbs per bolt and a grade 8 bolt is 12771 lbs . If something fails on the hitch when you use it for a jack point it won't be the bolts. https://www.fastenal.com/content/feds/pdf/Torque-Tension Chart for A307 Gr5 Gr8 Gr9.pdf -
Aluminium or Steel? If it were to extend to a full circle what would the diameter be?
-
I have done mine at 25000 intervals. Lv for the first , Valvoline for the second and Triax for the third change. The first two looked to be in about the same condition. The fourth change will be this week I will up date the on the Triax condition. I will say the transmission shifts as well as ever.
